It was easy to call and ask which date and time they had the right staff who could accommodate my personal need (still weening off my wheelchair). Then the online booking was easy. Tip: book early in the morning for smooth booking.

When we got there as google map accuarately directed us, there was a parking cove, and parallel parking spots, so unless you need to drive I'd suggest using the TTC during peak booked hours.

Sebastian and Gibby were very thoughtful as they lifted me from either side from my wheelchair all the way to the front seat of the tandem kayak so I could enjoy the view better. Sebastian also gave us a brief tutorial on how to hold the paddle correctly and how to make turns. There's even a visually impaired lady who kayaks weekly just by the sound of the paddling from the staff in front.

We spent a lovely time on the calm lake, weather was great, not windy, nor hot. Lake was clear so could see the lush green bottom. Gibby who was rowing behind me incase anything happened, took over the rowing when my arms grew tired. I was happy just enjoying the view! Gibby was a very knowledgeable tour guide as he pointed out the sites and birds. (Cormorants much? Lol). All in all it was a day I'll never forget.

The staff are also very concerned with safety that of course life jackets are a must but they also give individuals a GPS installed walkie-talkie so if the tide takes you further they'll rescue you. They additionally lend a waterproof phone case and a bag for your valuable.

I immensely enjoyed my time there and...

I will preface this review by saying that I consider myself an extremely patient and reasonable person. Although my group and I enjoyed our time kayaking without issue and even received a demonstration and help in and out of the boat, my experience has unfortunately been overshadowed by a severe lack of communication on the business's end.

I was informed over the phone that my original booking was understandably cancelled due to the weather and was told to respond to the original confirmation email to reschedule. After doing so and not receiving a response, I decided to rebook on my own as we were worried reservations would fill up quickly over the long weekend. I figured my original booking would've been cancelled and refunded but that was not the case...Not only did it take over a week and a second follow-up email to receive a response, but Sebastian didn't even have the courtesy to read through the email correspondence history that was forwarded in the message. Poor customer service and lack of effort to have an upset customer repeat themselves. I still haven't received the refund for the cancelled booking...

TLDR; You will be on a wild goose chase trying to get your money back if your booking was cancelled due to unsafe weather conditions (a very likely...

My boyfriend and I had such an amazing experience last night. We've been kayaking before on smaller lakes but never with this company and never at night! My boyfriend booked this activity as our 1 year anniversary celebration and everything about last night was perfect! The weather, the calmness of the water, the incredibly friendly and knowledgeable guides (Gigi and her team) as well as Gibby! The illuminated night tour didn't feel like your typical "guided tour". While the guides were always within sight, we never felt rushed or felt that we had to follow them closely. We had a lot of freedom and it was nice having that space! The guides made us feel incredibly safe and were extremely reassuring. The transparent kayaks are beautiful and the lights make it all that more stunning! I highly recommend the transparent kayak! While it's more expensive compared to the other options, it's worth every single penny. Being on the water under the moonlight and seeing the skyline lit up in the distance was an image that i'll never forget! This was probably one of my favourite...

I, along with my two friends went for a family Kayaking through Paddle Pirates on a Friday morning. This was my second time Kayaking and first time Kayaking with this company. Sebastian, the owner of the company is such a cool and patient person. Before we started, he gave us all the guidelines, safety instructions and made us practice rowing as it was first time for two out of three ppl. We were given life jackets, mobile covers that can be worn around the neck, waterproof bag for our stuffs and a walkie-talkie which had GPS. He helped us land our kayak in the water and then we took off for two hours. He had given us instructions on the waves and winds, so we followed it and it was a smooth sail. The kayak was of good quality, the paddles were in good condition. Overall it was a very smooth experience with his kayak and service. I definitely recommend it. The owner is such a genuine person. I had called him to check if the weather looks favourable, and he didn’t try to sell it even once, instead he guided me to make an informed decision.

What an incredible experience! Who would have thought there would be a place in Toronto that offers kayaks/paddle boards rentals in the winter! My friends and I decided to go during the “snow storm” we had on Wednesday. Sébastien and his team were super kind, accommodating, patient, friendly, and helpful. Sébastien communicated very well prior to the rental appointment in terms of what to expect and what to wear. He ensured that the water condition was appropriate for the ride before giving us a green light to go. Sébastien also went for the ride with us to ensure extra safety, which I’m very thankful he did. We were provided with dry suits, dry bags for our stuff, phone water cases, walkie-talkies, and life jackets. They also provided a heater where you can warm up after, which was something I did not expect at all! Overall, Paddle Pirates exceeded my expectations. Don’t be afraid to try this activity in the winter because Sébastien and his team will take great care of you! Would highly recommend trying this out!!
