Salon 6 Twelve — Local services in Vancouver

I went to get a hair cut which would entail what I thought would be a trim and a simple relayer. I have...... well had..... long hair with layers in it and just needed them trimmed up a bit. I went in the first time and came out with very boxy straight edge ends which I had told the girl I absolutely hated and did not want before we even began cutting. I wanted the V shape so it layered around my face when putting my hair over my shoulders which I emphasized HEAVILY. After I went back in to get the ends fixed, I came out with short, shoulder length hair with weird layers in the lower 1-1.5 inches of my hair. I have so much love for my hair and am always fearful for getting cuts for this very reason. I left the salon after the 2nd time with the stylist crying on my way home. I will have to wear my hair up for the next 6 months for it to grow out as I cannot and will not wear it down as it stands right now.

I'm deeply saddened to write this review as the salon came highly recommended and the staff were very friendly, but I felt that as I start crying every time my hair is down and I see it in a mirror, that that's not okay. I paid above average price for a jr. stylist to cut my hair and the end result is that I no longer have long hair, I cannot wear it down and I have NO length to spare to have someone else attempt to fix it...

Since I have a sensitive scalp, and dealing with hair loss, I wanted to avoid the hairdresser and the mirror. Miki however saved my day and was very caring and understanding. She was exceptionally patient with me, giving me little breaks and talking throughout the process. Not a second of awkwardness felt. I thought this would be a moment of tears, instead, I left the saloon with a new sense of confidence. When my child needed a haircut Emma was available and did a fabulous job. I have no idea how she did it as he is usually very energetic. She is quick yet thoughtful and balances neatly between parents’ and child’s wishes. Fabulous salon! I'm from out of town and needed a trim. On Friday night I checked out online reviews of salons closest to my hotel and then went on a recon for my top 3 picks hoping to book for the following day. First 2 I walked into didn't give me a welcoming feeling at all and I was going to just pass on the whole idea of a local haircut. Decided to try again and walked down to Salon 6 Twelve and despite showing up at closing time was warmly welcomed & booked with Dale for Sat morning. Dale listened to what issues/concerns I had with my hair and then I just relaxed and let him go to work. So very pleased with my haircut, the pleasant service and the great vibes in this salon.
