We have been coming here a few times a month and have noticed this place is getting more recognition! The food is amazing and The portions are generous! I have ordered their famous taiwanese chicken nuggets. It is cripsy, perfectly flour coated, and very juicy! It has a ton of flavours, generous amount of cripsy basil and garlic! The meals come with 2 sides, rice and egg white corn soup. The black pepper beef and green onions was a hit! Packed with heat and a lot of pepper. The beef was tender and savoury! Be sure to tell your server if you want less spice! This one has an option to make it into a meal for I believe $3 dollars more, you get 2 sides and a soup. Came here on another day, and I ordered the pork ragu, which is like braised pork with quail eggs. I found this dish to be my least favourite of all of the dishes- but its not to say that it wasnt great! It was very tender, but I think it lacked a little salt. Perhaps just that order? I will give it another try next time. The 3 sauce chicken was really tasteful, it had a lot of sauce and savouriness. Their were large seared ginger slices with the chicken that gave it a very unique flavour I havent seen many taiwanese places have done. The chicken was very tender! The home made taiwanese sausage was definity worthy to order. It was juicy, cripsy and tender! It had a tinge of sweetness to it and came with a side of garlic/sweet sauce. I forgot to mention, their home made hot sauce is very tasteful and doesnt taste like any hot sauces I’ve ever tried before. You can see it in the photos, small red/chili side. There is no extra charge to this, it has a nice spicy kick and full of aromas! If you are a healthcare worker, you get 10% off your entire meal! The staffs here are really amazing. They have given us mango or pineapple tea on the house to try.... and it was so yummy! It was not sweet at all, as I would have imagined. We get chocolates sometimes too after our meals! They take temperatures upon arriving.

First time going to A Bento. Very clean and modern spot. Some parking spots in the back but you gotta walk around to the front to enter. Got 3 items to try: - the trio which had taiwanese chicken nuggets, squid and fish cakes which I highly recommend. - Taiwanese fried rice which was also delicious. Had a great amount of Taiwanese sausage. - snow pea: this was ok, felt like they forgot to season the peas, could taste more sesame oil but felt like it could just use a bit more salting Here's where I deduct a points. When I asked the server for a take out box, I wish Ashley would of mention the box fee or the bag fee before hand so it doesn't come as a shock. I've never ever once had a place charge me for paper take out boxes. She gave me the boxes and I told her I didn't want the bag cause she had only advices me of the paper bag fee which was .89 cents. I declined and then she left me with the boxes but I started loading which she then brings me a bill for the take out boxes. Just a heads up before hand would of been nice. It did leave a tiny bit of a sour ending to the meal. Overall food is pretty yummy. Hope to come back to try their Bento set.

A.Bento is a great spot for anyone craving authentic Taiwanese food in a welcoming atmosphere. Located on the south side of West Broadway between Ash and Heather Streets, it’s convenient and easy to find. I recently tried the popcorn chicken bento and the deep-fried pork chops bento, and both were excellent choices. The dishes were prepared fresh to order, capturing that balance of crispy yet not greasy, making each bite a delight. The bento meals are only available on weekdays, but they’re well worth a weekday While I usually go for the deluxe pork ragu on rice—another stellar dish—I’m glad I ventured to try the bento options. The popcorn chicken was seasoned just right, and the pork chops were tender with a satisfying crunch. Each bento came with a generous portion of protein for us, making it a good value for the price. Service at A.Bento was also great; the staff were friendly and attentive. It’s a welcoming place that’s perfect for a lunch break especially for anyone who appreciates fresh, authentic Taiwanese flavors. Whether you’re a regular like me or trying it out for the first time, A.Bento is a must-visit.

I'm visiting Vancouver from Taiwan and my Taiwanese American in-laws were looking for authentic Taiwanese cuisine in town. We made reservations for 6 adults and 3 children to dine in at the restaurant just hours ago. We ordered perhaps 8 to 9 dishes ranging from "Taiwanese appetizers" such as Taiwanese pickled cabbage and pickled cucumbers to "banquet-style" dishes such as Three-Cup Chicken, Lion's Head, and Steamed Cod with Soybean Crisps. I would say the Three-Cup Chicken and the Cod are the most flavorful; the other dishes may appeal to those who haven't been to Taiwan, but to me, they seem to be missing some elements (i.e. Lion's Head shouldn't be loaded with white pepper).

While these main entrees may be a hit or miss (which I can understand), what appalled me was their idea of a "kids menu" set: A large bowl of braised pork belly rice (滷肉飯) paired with Taiwanese fried chicken (鹽酥雞), a cup of OJ and a giant chocolate chip cookie. My guess was that they either ran out of healthy food selections or veggies for kids, or that customers usually don't order the kids menu set at all.

My advice to families visiting this restaurant: stay away from the kids menu set. To the managers and owner of this restaurant, my recommendation is to put some effort into redesigning your kids menu so that it offers healthier alternatives than chocolate-chip cookie (which is NOT Taiwanese) and/or...
