We were going to go to another restaurant until we realized that restaurant had closed for a mid day break so we needed a quick backup plan and ended up at this Korean restaurant. SO happy we stumbled across this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious! We found out they had just opened two weeks ago! We love Korean food and haven’t found a “go-to” Korean place yet so I think we’re going to make this the one! I’m always a fan of Korean soups so I decided to get the Soybean Soup with Beef. My husband got the Spicy Chicken Bibimbap. Overall he enjoyed his dish though I think a part of him missed the hot sizzling bowl Bibimbap tends to come in because the rice at the bottom gets very crispy). But! I will say the presentation was very nice!
I loved my soup, it was so full of flavour and delicious ingredients (onion, zucchini, cabbage, carrots, soybeans, tofu and the beef). It came with a bowl of rice and two mini side dishes (kimchi and sweet potato). (the Kimchi was one of the best I’ve had) the waitress gave me a second round and we quickly devoured it. (Recommend getting their Kimchi!) . I am eager to go back and try the Spicy Tofu Soup! Perfect for a cold winter day.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant! (They are very Covid cautious as well. They had sanitizer at the front, customers were spaced out accordingly and the place itself was very clean). Service was great! The two girls that helped us were very friendly. Definitely coming back for...
Read moreI got the fried unagi dup-bap lunch special along with their soy garlic korean fried chicken to share with my party. The fried unagi comes with a soy sauce based sauce, which you can ration at your own discretion, a salad, and miso soup. I found the unagi to be well seasoned and cooked, while the breading was nice and crispy. The salad and miso soup were acceptable. Their fried chicken was evenly coated in their soy garlic sauce, the breading was crispy, and the chicken was very tender. I do believe the highlight of this restaurant was the service and atmosphere, however. The walls were decorated with things such as what somaek and chimaek were, which I found to be a nice touch, and the tables were all very separated, which I also appreciated, as its often a rarity to have so much space between tables nowadays. As for the service, it definitely exceeded my expectations and was probably the best service I've ever received. The person serving our table (I wasn't able to grab the name, sorry!) went above and beyond for us. Even though we were the only table being served, I feel like it would've been just as easy for her to mostly ignore us, or not give us the service she did. This was the only time I've felt like giving a 15% tip would not be doing justice to the quality of the service received. All of that is to say, I highly recommend you give this...
Read moreUnderrated little gem of a casual Korean joint. Yes they've nailed the KFC, crispy, juicy, amazing flavours. But there's a lot of good Korean Fried chicken in town, so they also have to nail the basics. For starters, their tteok-bokki is KILLER especially for the price. Generous. Spicy, but not too spicy. The textural mix of the cabbage vs the super satisfying chew of the rice cakes, and the huge noodles, crispy dumplings and lovely squeaky fish balls. I hesitate to say it's such a great value because I don't want them to raise their price, but I'd pay $5 more for it. My veggie wife rates the bibimbap as excellent too, legit hot stone bowl, crispy rice, generous well-seasoned veggies cooked right.
Can't wait to explore the menu, I keep ordering the tteok-bokki but I want to try the bulgogi and pork stuff too!
I see some complaints about the service from new accounts with mostly negative reviews, but we've been here a handful of times and have always found the staff friendly and attentive, the food comes out very quickly, the water and tea refills come without...
