I simply cannot find any word to describe this place. When you’re walking along the beach, you just couldn’t be upset, no matter what happened, you just feel so comfortable. Any random picture you take could be on the your home screen. The water temperature is OK to swim during the summer, there’s a lot of parking space at one end of the walk. You get to see the bridges Stanley Park, and always a lot of people boating, and big ships. Dogs are not permitted and so are bikes, but your dog could follow you just outside the fence if you trust them to do so. Nothing too special just a feeling of home.

My favorite place to walk in the world. It is never ever the same scenery as the ships are always moving and the seasons make the ambiance different all the time. It is a perfect 5km from Park Royal to a bit past Dundarave so 10km is an easy park, run and back. I have walked here early at 5am and as late as 1230am and it is super safe and well lit. I have been going here for over 25 years and it only keeps getting better.

We made the mistake of straying from the Ambleside off-leash dog area. There are signs everywhere instructing dog owners where they may and may not walk their dogs, with threatening references to the bylaws. Dogs are not allowed on the seawalk, the beach, the grass, or the parks. I had never before heard of an outdoor public walking area that did not allow dogs. What a nasty little town.

You can't come to West Vancouver without wandering its beautiful coastline. The seawalk is a peaceful, dog-free, path along the coast which allows you to take in so much of the beauty West Vancouver has on offer. There's some great coffee shops just above the seawalk as you head along if you walk up to Marine Drive and ending in Dundarave you've no shortage of great options for a drink or a bite. Careful in winter as the waves can come in...
