We have been to this theater at least twice a month for the past year. While we like the location, we often dread going there to see a movie. You may ask why? Well, there are many reasons. First, there seems to be a lack of adult supervision and management of the very young and, seemingly, inexperienced staff. First, there seems to be a lack of staff at the concession stand. Today, we stood in line with over 20 people which was being serviced by one person. It took us 15 minutes to be served. But, when we ordered, we were told that the restaurant was closed so we could not order a hot dog or tea. This is the third time in the past month that we were told this. Likewise, we have had several experiences where the film did not start on time. In addition, on several occasions, we booked our tickets in advance and then when we got to the theater, someone came up and sat down in seats right beside us without any social distancing. There seems to be a serious problem with the management of this theater and your on-line booking system. Similarly, your bathrooms are poorly maintained. One of the bathrooms has several sinks where there is no water flow and several hand dryers that don't work. This has been going on for several years. No offense but I feel that you need to fix these problems. Your theater does not compare with the local Landmark Theater where we do not encounter any of these problems. Their food and popcorn are always available even for the early morning shows and the concession counter is always properly staffed. Please address these problems so that we can enjoy our visits to...
Read moreWow! Considering all of the concerns out there at this time with Covid, THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST TIME TO GO for a movie!!! We went Sunday July 9/20 for a 6:15pm movie. Wonder Woman. The place is IMPECCABLY clean! Popcorn & drinks as usual - - great!
We went to our seats we had chosen earlier (yes! There's a screen at the counter from which you choose your seats!) In this very large theatre it was almost like seeing a sci-fi movie had just been played out live...perhaps an alien abduction one. One where everyone was snatched away, with only one lady, the sole other occupant of a seat, to be left back. And so we made it to our seats, in this spotlessly clean gigantic room. My husband, myself and the other patron we'll call Joan. Why Joan? I don't know...she looked like a Joan. Pleasant, quiet demeanour.
Only odd thing during the movie was: i- not hearing others laugh, ii- not worrying about how to cut out of the row if you need to pee iii- ask each other why we're whispering? Joan was social distancing so far away that if I'd cough I'd truly be Wonder Woman for the droplets to get to her!
Safety issues? Well, even had there been many there, the seating was set up EXTREMELY well. We felt safer there than when in Walmart, Superstore, Costco and on the street!
GO SEE A MOVIE! Before they all are closed again! And THANKS Scotiabank Theatre...
Read morehad date night there and got there early to play some games. most games were broken or claw machines were empty or the crane wouldn’t reach far enough to select a prize. moved onto the coin operated prize machines for a secured prize and that also didn’t work. stopped at the washroom before the show and stall was out of toilet paper. went to the theatre for our show and people were in our assigned seat so ended up not wanting to be confrontational so sat in some seats that we felt were lower quality so would remain empty for the show. once the movie started there were 2 groups talking behind us, one stopped after about 15 minutes but the other group of 3 continued to talk the ENTIRE movie. i’m a gal that likes the subtitles on so going to a movie without that can be challenging especially when 3 deep male voices are conquering my brain. bf was politely going to ask them to be quiet but i stopped him as we never know how someone will react and prefer to stay safe. after several “shhs” from us and 2 other groups in the theatre they continued the disrespectful chatter and the movie ended. went to the washroom again after the movie and chose a different stall to be surprised again by no toilet paper. brutal. $90+ for a laughable terrible night....
