Of all the cities I have lived in I havent found a city like Winnipeg. A city against which the odds get stacked every time. Even the nature stacks odds against the city, and to believe that you have to be here at the height of winter and summer. Saying all that and more, the city and the province has been blessed with a lot of things and more. Especially with the people and the Community like a commune of hardworking, like minded and persevering people - Indeed One Great City. This One great city brewery constantly brews such great potions and flavors it's always a surprise to be there and try out a few of them before you get to the beer you will drink. So you are a bit buzzed before getting a bit drunk. Their beers reflect the communities, reflect the flavors of the people and reflect cultures and cuisines that make up this city. From radlers and sours to Lagers and ales to stouts, porters, dopplebocks and Pilsners, belgian ale , witbiers to Ipa and neipa and such I have found so many types of beers at any point in time here such a variety. Then they get season specials like winnipeg flavored humbug beer and their tipsy cow stout thats always there and so many more flavors. Food: They have a great selection of food. Don't sleep on their smoked chicken nachos, Lambwich and korean & kimchicajun wings. They keep adding new stuff to the menu which is grest to try out every now and then. I really liked their Chicago style pizza which on my recent visit Was made known to be no more....😭😭. Service: Their service is top notch, quick, and efficient. One of those places where people are either trained well or they hire such people that are pro active - never ever had I a wait staff here that didnt know something or get me information on something in their menu. Its well orchestrated place. Its casual professional and thats how brewpubs have to be. Ambience: The ambience is great. You don't feel cramped anywhere you are seated. its a nicely spaced place and has a nice summer patio. I feel sad seeing their plants every time I am there...if the owner/manager reads this I can professionally help them with decorating, buying and keeping plants all year round if they are interested in such(fingers crossed). You should go visit this place if you are visiting Winnipeg. You should take anyone who is visiting winnipeg to this place. All the #whiteout visitors should definitely go there. cheers.

We went there for a JETS game night. We had a friend visiting from Japan who loves beer so we thought here is an ideal place for the occasion since they seem to have a good selection of craft beers and interesting food choices. Overall, they are a cool brewer place to get drinks and their food menus are really hit and miss but it seems better selection than other brewers. We got there 6pm. Took close to 10 min to get seated not because they were are full but whatever reason... The server was friendly and explained the specials. We also found that their jets game specials, apps 15% off and $1 off for their beer, are only offered during the game but not before or after.. We were a group of five people. Here is what we ordered and the reviews -flights(4oz x 4, beer tasters, $10ish): It was a fun to try a lot of mini tasters :) -Nachos: It was probably best food that we ordered. It came with an interesting spicy dip. Highly recommended :) -Kimchi pork Tacos: Super small yet the meat was too salty.. how could they.. :( -Chicken waffle: It was absolutely massive and the maple gravy source was good :) -Korean chicken food: Taste itself was good but way too much source. It was like drinking BBQ... :( The red lentils chorizo soup was full of flavor and yummy. -Beer cheese soup: Soup was pureed and there deep fried cheese balls. It's worth to try -Better Chicken: It had a good flavor, portion and presentation. Recommended :) -Burger: YUP it's a good burger. If you don't wanna take a risk or over spicy food, this is the go to :)

One Great City had been highly recommended to us several times so we eventually got the chance to try it. Short version: Phenomenal food, surprisingly good beers and above average service. We had several different dishes. The beer and cheese soup ($6) might be the best beer soup we've ever had. The flavour is more then what you'd typically find in a soup like this. The deep fried cheese crouton caught us off guard with its crispyness and super tender center. Roasted Brussel sprouts ($10) with smoked bacon, walnuts and queso fresco topping is a great Keto friendly appetizer. The sprouts were grilled to perfection and was topped off with granny smith apples. The smoked chicken nachos ($17) have elevated into my top 3 nachos in Winnipeg. Several other pub restaurants could learn from this. Loaded with cheese, deep fried tortilla chips, smoked chicken and artichoke hearts gave it a unique flavor. But the absolute best part was the scratch made pico de gallo. If they would sell take home jars of the stuff I would buy it. Roasted corn, cilantro and what we think is lime and grapefruit juices make this so, so good. A definite must try. Portion is sharable. For beers, we tried the Fruit tea-riffic sour and a version of the Cherries on the Prairies. Both exceptional. They commonly make small batches which is what we had that is a variation of their stock brews. All in all, very good experience and we'll be back to try some of their other menu items.

Last night we had a reservation for 8pm for my husbands birthday which was supposed to be a surprise dinner. When I made the reservation I was very clear about it being at 8pm and stated it multiple times. I even broke down the timeline that guests would arrive at 8pm, my husband and I would arrive after everyone at 8:15 as it's a surprise and that we would order food around 8:30. No problem was brought to my attention and I was told to call the morning of to confirm the numbers. I then sent out invitations for 8pm. Morning of arrives and I called to confirm numbers. During this call I mentioned 8pm 3 times. He ended the call by saying "what time is the reservation again?" In which I stated 8pm, thanked him and he ended the call. Come 8pm my guests arrive for dinner and they were told it was at 830. When one of my guests tried to calmly talk to the manager about it, he was met with aggression and super defensive in his face. He told my guest "well the paper says 830, so it MUST be 830." Like once again, he didn't even know. I decided to phone and again, he was super defensive, lying through his teeth. Made up conversations we didn't have. Told me he would of never booked us in for 8pm and he told me this. At no point was anything like that said. He made up multiple things that were not said, which is really insulting as I'm not stupid or a liar. He was being really rude. The surprise was ruined. Even if the reservation was for 830, they wouldn't of had it ready in time either. They were relying on the table next to us leaving before then, which they didn't and we didn't have enough room until after 840. So we were all sitting squished at a table until the next table cleared for more room. If a mistake was made I would of been more understanding. But, the way it was approached was rediculous and upsetting. No apology was given and I'll be surprised...
