We stayed in a standard room, which was connected to the next room by a locked door. Our neighbours were partiers and we were able to hear everything. At 2am we called the front desk and asked them to ask the neighbours to keep the volume down. At 4am we called again since it was even louder by this time. The hotel staff tried to talk to the neighbours who were very intoxicated by this time, and belligerent. The partiers got angry, figured out it was us who called the front desk, and proceeded to throw heavy objects against the door connecting our two rooms, and yelling that they were going to come in and kill us. They then tried to pick the lock of the door between our rooms, and we called the front desk again asking them to call the police, which they said they had already done. Eventually the police came, and the neighbours were forced to leave. A very difficult night for us and also for the hotel staff. We were not offered any kind of compensation. I did ask to switch rooms the next morning, since I was afraid they would come back to the hotel to hurt us - they still had key cards and could potentially enter through one of the hotel side doors. We were given a new room and also offered $40 off the price of our total bill (we stayed for a week) when we asked for compensation. But I feel the hotel management should have done more for us given the extremely difficult situation. I feel for those who were working that night - the person on the front desk and also the security people. If you book this hotel just know that there are sound issues, as mentioned in many of the reviews, especially in the...
Read moreWe’ve been regularly staying at this hotel for several years now. We like the location near the hospital, grocery store and shopping. Unfortunately, the hotel has been declining exponentially year after year. The owners seem to be content to keep invoicing the government for medical travel patients, while not doing a darn thing to improve guests’ experiences. We found a crack pipe in our closet the last visit, took it to the front desk, they didn’t so much as apologize- That would be at least 1 night free if I were managing. Then, on our stay in August 2019... where to start? No curtain or blinds on the living room sliding glass doors. At least tack up a sheet! Those glass doors were stained with all number of unidentified smears and streaks, and led to a balcony which was equally as FILTHY. But don’t think housekeeping and management contained the disgust to just the exterior- Sofa and carpet was COVERED in stains, and the bed had two large indents in it, like it was a 15-year old mattress (hot tip: it was). At first, as we were a family tired from travelling, we resigned ourselves to asking for a few extra sheets, to literally cover the floor and furniture. Fortunately, our better senses kicked in and we left after 30 minutes. |Management- I want you to use the worst room in your hotel to cook a meal for your closest family and friends, then invite them to lounge in the seating area and finally spend a night in the room. If you want do that without feeling any shame then you have a problem. |You have a...
Read moreI've stayed here a few times before, and after the past week I was reminded why I had not been back and won't be. Amenities-wise, you can't go wrong having a 1 or 2 bed apartment at your disposal, which was the primary reason we went there. However the building is starting to show its age and lack of upkeep: stains in the carpets, chairs, couches, food stuck in the carpet and leftover food crumbs in the kitchen. the baseboards and walls are in need of some love too, and on the balcony one of the glass panes had been kicked out. Holes cut in the patio door screen and taped over with masking tape. None of this is terrible, but for $266 a night it's just bad value. I contacted the front desk rep and advised I was not happy with the condition of my room and was told that the housekeeping manager and GM would reach out to me about it. I checked out the next afternoon after having not been contacted by either and got a suite at the exlorer that was considerably nicer and cheaper than a similar stay at Stanton. just not worth what they're charging. oh and i counted no less than 4 people in one hour lurking around my room's patio looking for cigarette butts... and I...
