Its pricey (HKD 700ish) for 2A2C, early admission discount before 12 noon. "Mock" elevator with a guide giving some interesting Monopoly history and facts, requested him to speak in English as my kids do not understand cantonese and he obliged - his English was pretty good actually!
Then a 4D movie on Mr Monopoly taking you on an adventure. At that time we were the only visitors (Fri morning) and had the whole theatre to ourselves. Followed by a money grabbing chamber, grab the 100 ones - use max 3 per transaction to offset purchases at the gift shop (100 notes are HK10 off each), except the gachapon machines.
You can print large sized property cards (random properties) and take home (1/ticket), takes lots of photos of "jail", Mr monopoly, his dog, waterworks etc. Some interactive games too.
Interesting place albeit abit expensive. My kids enjoyed themselves (they love playing monopoly) and we spent about 2 hours. The outdoor area has similar views to the skyterrace 428 so I recommend skipping that and coming here (outdoor part is free).
Lots of monopoly and hasbro games to buy, monopoly themed pillows, keychains, magnets , pins etc. My kids love the gachapons, spent a bomb there. Also snagged a free parking acrylic standee in a "blind" box which was what I wanted.
The staff are very friendly and speak English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Recommend to go if you're a huge monopoly fan or you have kids that like the game and of course don't minding spending...
Read moreBrought my kids to the Monopoly Dreams on Sunday and they had a great time there. It started with a tour of an animation simulating an elevator ride bringing you to Mr. Monopoly’s office. It showcases the history of Monopoly along with the various editions of Monopoly sold throughout the years.
Next is an exciting 4D movie (not going to reveal too much here, will let you explore it yourself) that lasts about 5 minutes. Once it is over, you will be led to a wind chamber to play a money grabbing game. The Monopoly notes collected in the game can be used as coupons towards purchase at the shop.
After the game, you may freely roam around the different sections including the jail, electric company, water works, all those familiar places from the board game. Although the area isn’t massive, there are many photo shooting spots and interactive games where we’ve spent around 1.5 hour at the attraction.
In the last area before the gift shop, you may scan your ticket to enter a lucky draw for coupons (from food coupons to a $10,000 HKD discount to a special edition watch by Memorigin)
There’s a human sized monopoly in the outdoor area where one can play at an extra cost which seems interesting. However it was a rainy day that we couldn’t get the chance to experience it.
The overall experience was wonderful and even better if the place is bigger that could fit a bigger crowd and it can be packed...
Read moreWent yesterday with my aunt and I thought it was fun but since it was Labour holiday, there were way too many people and I panicked but the Monopoly Dreams place had a great view looking over Hong Kong, sadly didn't see any light shows at 8pm and it was fun with the 4d cinema but not much to explore, plus the games could only use 1 ticket to scan so if you make a mistake in the house one where you type your name or friend/ family name or the own it all one, you can't redo it unless you tell a staff member you made a mistake, also in the own it all one, the voucher is useless same with the money and the house or place names especially if you don't live in Hong Kong permanently and only as a holiday like I am in Hong Kong as holiday, and it's mainly for children, I used to play Monopoly but when I went there, found out it was mainly for children not adults.
I would recommend it and the game where you have to try to catch all the money, I would recommend getting 50's but you can only use 3 and I played 2 times yesterday and now have 3 which I can't use on anything, if you want to just go have a look around, I recommend the view of Hong...
