I strongly advise not to take your tour with these bunch of unprofessional people. I contacted the owner named Fernandez 2 days before the city tour. The tour cost was $135 for 6 hours and the itinerary included 4 places with gold museum. Total time frame for the tour was 6 hours. He asked for 20% deposit which I paid by PayPal. He was repeatedly told very meticulously that I am staying in Tequandsma Suites and not in Tequandama hotel. Both are different. I gave them the pictures of exact address. I was supposed to be picked up at 8:30 am on Monday. When the driver did not show up at 8:30 am, I called and he won’t accept my call, only text messages. It gave a clear indication that he was trying to ignore me. As I doubted and worried he sent the driver to the wrong address Tequandama Hotel. I had to run to the hotel which is quite far from my hotel to get to their driver. The guide and driver were excellent people. We went through the itinerary and I was surprised that Gold museum being closed on Monday shall not be included. Why this jerk didn’t tell me before and charged me the full amount for only 3/4 th of the trip he was going to give. Moreover once he got your money he won’t pick the damn phone. The driver was nice and drove me to the agency to pay the balance. I told them because I am getting only 3/4 th of the trip due to not visiting Gold Museum so my trip should be discounted. I was given $6 off and paid the remaining full amount. I enjoyed the trip with the driver and the guide. At the end of the trip I came to know that this cheap Charlie has deducted $6 from the guide’s payment. I felt so bad and decided to compensate the guide. This is a common complaint other tourist have mentioned that they either eliminate some spots from the confirmed itinerary or cut it short. Once they had your 20% deposit, they think they got you hooked. Be very careful if still decide to...
Read moreComing to Bogota after a five-week trip in South America, we didn’t expect to meet such a friendly people and beautiful city and thought that 3 days here would be more than enough… we were so wrong! Anyways, we contacted Bogotravel Tours in advance, because we wanted to have a private tour for the second and third day of our stay here. So we’ve got Francisco, driver and tour guide, for one day when we did the small town of Zipaquira – Catedral de Sal, and Edgar (tour guide) and his driver Miguel, for the other day when we did Cerro de Monserrate, Downtown Bogota with its Plaza de Bolivar and streets with beautiful graffiti art, the old city centre and a short visit to a small coffee factory. It was a very interesting experience and we had a lot of fun riding the old funicular going up to Cerro de Monserrate and the new cable car coming down from there. As we love taking lots of photos, some more artistic than others, both guys proved us their photographic skills as well. Aside from their social and professional skills as a tour guide, Francisco and Edgar are very proud Colombians; they were full of historical stories about Colombia in general and Bogota in particular and their transformation throughout the years. We couldn’t thank them enough for combining a spectacular sightseeing and a superb hospitality. And it was the best we could do with our time and money, well worth it. We miss them already and that’s why we gladly recommend them to anyone that goes to Bogota for one...
Read moreOur trip to Guatavita Lake and the Zipaquira Salt Cathedral was amazing! These places are full of history and beautiful nature, and we learned a lot while taking lots of photos.
Our guides, Saray and Boris, were awesome. Saray was super friendly and knew a lot about the places we visited. She was always ready to take great photos for us, which was really nice. Boris was cool because he knew a lot of people around, and they all seemed to know him too. He was funny and made the trip fun!
We also had a great lunch at a local place, which was part of the tour. The food was really good and felt authentic.
The best part was that Saray and Boris spent 12 hours with us, which was impressive. They made sure we had a great time and saw everything we could.
I would definitely recommend this tour. It was a day well spent, learning and having fun, with two great guides who made it special.
PS: communication with a company during schedule and pick up was terrible (Zzero answers, no details), but we were able to find the car in a different location and driver and guide...
