We stayed here for about 6 days. We arrived about 3am and the staff let us in and got us to our room. They had also helped us pre-book a taxi from the airport- really good after a 30 hour flight! The location of this hostel was perfect. It was close to everything; Centro historico, bars, restaurants etc. but on a quiet street. It felt safe to walk home at night and the hostel felt safe too as the staff were always around and we had a key to the front door, as well as our room, so we could enter by ourselves. The staff here were really awesome, Snider especially, who helped us throughout our stay, giving some advice and answering our questions about the city. Also the boss and Luis were very kind to us and the whole staff were always checking we were happy and ok. Nice hot shower which was very welcome in winter temperatures 😀 we also really enjoyed the roof terrace area, which had a cracking view of Monserrate. Breakfast was always super fresh and tasty. Not a complaint, but we were there over a long weekend for Colombians and some other guests were not super courteous about being noisy during the night- the staff can't really help if people are rude, but it's worth bringing some earplugs just in case! Most nights were very quiet and calm. 😀 I would stay here...

I came here to have a coffee in the terrace and I have to say that I was surprised to see how beautiful the view is. On a beautiful day I wouldn't hesitate to come here and grab a beer and enjoy the view of the mountains, Monserrate, the contrast of the buildings and the trees/ palms. Very curious about coming here during the evening/ weekend. Cappuccino €2 Americano €2 $8000 COP each

Review update April 2025 . Sadly I have to change my review. We went today for brunch and the food was not as good as it seems. Sandwiches ( pulled pork / chicken ) look good but the ingredients were cheap. Crisps were not good or crispy at all, they were stale. The bread of the sandwich wasn't good, cheap bread from a package. For the price they should use freshly baked bread. Also, the Astromelia breakfast wasn't the best. The bread ( again from a package) wasn't good, small portion of eggs and an ok parfait. If this is the same breakfast they offer to the guests of the hostel I would not be satisfied. I'd rather eat somewhere else.

In conclusion , I'd go just for a drink but definitely not for food. The waiters were very kind but the...

In the day of check-out, I left my baggage there to spend the day at the city. For my surprise, when I came back in the afternoon, the Hostel was entirely closed and there were pollice officers out there saying that the Hostel was closed, waiting to enter there. Me and a few more travellers stand in the streets with the pollice officers for half an hour, without any answer of the Hostel staff. After some time, the staff opened the doors, we entered it and everything was in the dark. The staff said that there were some problems with operating licenses. I grabbed my baggage and just want to leave to the airport, cause i had no more time to spend there. The staff even asked for all of the travellers to wait more 15 minutes, so everybody could go out together. I needed to wait, as the doors were closed. Finally, I got out from the Hostel. There were no more pollice officers outside. I will absolutely never come back again at that hostel. It was close that I would leave my baggage there and go out for the airport....

I should have mentioned this place—it’s a rooftop located in a hostel in La Candelaria. The place is called Astromelia. It’s super peaceful and cozy. I had some delicious appetizers and received phenomenal service. Thank you so much Luis Miguel . Don’t miss the chance to visit it!
