Dislikes: NO ELEVATOR (not mentioned anywhere on hotel website). My room was on the 4th FLOOR. Add Bogota’s altitude; out-of-breath. Would not stay here again because of the absence of an elevator. Second dislike are the bath toiletries and the absence of even a small soap bar (I actually asked). The room is provided w 2 small plastic bottles that are not sealed but are refilled daily with a watered down bath gel that doesn’t lather. Refilling small bottles daily by house staff is unhygienic. I ended up buying my own bar of soap. Neither hair conditioner, body lotion or facial tissues are provided. There is NO parking available. However, there are a number of unpaved parking lots nearby that are fairly priced but only one remains open until 10 pm; the others close at 7:30 pm. Parking is an issue.

Likes: The staff of exceptionally kind & helpful. The breakfast is varied and well served. Rocio makes certain every guest is served whatever he/she desires. Try her homemade guava marmalade; it’s thick & goes well with the delicious morning croissants. The daily fruit plate is excellent. I tried their ham once & didn’t order it again. The ham served is more akin to a processed meat product than real ham. The ham aside, great breakfast in a very nice setting with soft classical music always playing.

The room was excellent once I make the walk up the four flights of stairs. The bed was comfortable. I booked one of the suites with its own private terrace which was wonderful. The furniture is ok.

Check-in with Ingrid at reception was excellent. It was quick & uneventful (as it should me). I also liked the hotel security. 24/7 the front desk is staffed & responsible for opening the front door. No one can get inside unless a staff member opens the door. There is always fresh coffee downstairs for guests. You can also order simple sandwiches and a soft drink at any time for a very reasonable cost.

Conclusion: thumps UP for staff, location, building, guest care, security & price. But thumbs DOWN for no elevator, no parking, no soap or decent bath toiletries & that unidentifiable processed product...

Good Location, Comfortable Rooms, Helpful Staff

Located in the Old Town section of Bogotá, the hotel is near many of the sights, attractions, and tours that most first-time visitors to the city would want to see.

The staff is extremely helpful, with good English-language skills. They were very patient and helpful when I was practicing speaking Spanish with them.

The lobby is simple, but functional. A staff member is always at the front desk to come open the doors, help with advice, or to book car or taxi services. We had the Casa Deco staff arrange a car service from and to the Bogotá airport, Aeropuerto Internacional El Dorado, which is located 13km (8 miles) northwest of the city. Just be sure to confirm the return trip with the hotel staff a day or two before you leave.

The reception desk, bar, and breakfast room are located on the ground-level floor, but all the hotel rooms are accessed by a central stairway.

The rooms are basic, but pleasant, with comfortable beds and adequate storage for clothes and personal items. The wi-fi is reasonably strong, but many rooms do not have a desk. Consequently, I had to use the small sitting-area table and move it over to the bedside where there was an electrical socket, in order to use my electronic devices comfortably. Due to the shape of the hotel, some rooms face directly into other rooms. The in-room safes are quite small, so do not expect to be able to lock up a laptop or larger tablet computer.

Breakfast, which is included, is excellent, with juice (a different flavor served each day), coffee or tea, fresh fruit (with a different combination served each day), and a selection of eggs or pancakes. I found the food to be quite delicious.

Including taxes and breakfast, the nightly rate was...

Great Hotel, Good Location

Centrally located in the historic part of Bogota, this hotel is ideally placed for exploring the interesting parts of Bogota. It is only a few blocks away from the main attractions including the Gold Museum. The hotel is decorated throughout with modern art. The rooms are big and clean with wooden floors. The bathrooms are clean and big. The breakfast is very good and is individually prepared and served. The only drawback is that there is no elevator in the hotel but staff will help you. The roof top terrace is a nice place to relax. In the lobby there is small bar and they will bring your drinks up to the terrace. There is free tea and coffee throughout the day. Highly...

We experienced exceptional service from friendly staff during our 3 night stay. This is a very strategically located hotel in old town Bogata, funky, clean and excellent value. We arrived early, hours before official check-in, after many hours of air travel to be welcomed by staff and in no time set up with our room.
