Original Arenal ATV — Local services in La Fortuna

This was one of my favorite things we did this entire trip and I went in thinking I wouldn't enjoy it. The guide Randy had the best energy and Pura Vida spirit. They teach you exactly how to use the ATVs and provide helmets. I saw several comments about how they were smelly and the ones we used were not at all. You start on a practice course and then get going. You stay on trials or roads and while you do go through muddy puddles and a river we did not get very muddy. Be sure to wear shoes you don't mind getting wet. Randy also took videos and photos for us the entire time! He was really a full service guide that made the trip. We stopped at a river where we put volcanic mud on our faces. Our next stop we found a troop of howler monkeys playing! Finally we stopped at a small farm for provided water and fruit. Overall this was a incredibly fun trip even while it poured rain on us! No prior experience on an ATV is needed. You can ride double but I say go by yourself! So much fun!!

Only small downside we didn't go close to the volcano like...

DO NOT BOOK HERE – ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

This was by far the worst vacation tour I have ever been on. The staff, particularly Andres, completely ruined what should have been a fun and enjoyable day. Andres was on an unbearable power trip, constantly yelling and showing the worst attitude imaginable. Instead of creating a welcoming environment, he seemed determined to make everyone miserable.

On top of that, Andres was completely incapable of properly teaching us how to ride the ATVs. His instructions were unclear and rushed. He didn’t even bother helping anyone who was struggling or got stuck. People were left to fend for themselves, which made the entire experience stressful and unsafe.

This place is an absolute disaster. The staff is not only rude but also completely unprofessional. Their lack of care and dangerous behavior could easily lead to someone getting seriously hurt. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. The images attached is the injury that Andres and his staff indirectly caused. AVOID...

We just took the ATV tour with this company. Highly recommend!! When I first messaged through What’s app, I received a response immediately!! I was able to pay, get all the location and time information right away. Andres was our guide and he was fantastic!! Hr was able to speak English well and gave a great tour. We would stop and he would give history about certain things. We own 4 wheelers at home and so we were a little nervous it would be lame being on a guided tour but it wasn’t!! They have some good trails and a variety of things to see. The 4 wheelers are easy to operate and are in good condition. They provided one bottle of water which was more than enough for our 2.5 hour ride but you could bring a backpack with more drinks if you need that.
