What can i say … Please do not go here!!! The service was awful, the food was not good, and it was all just an unpleasant experience 😣

We got to the restaurant and were seated at an unclean table. The waiter didn’t come to check on us or give us menus until 10 minutes after we had been sat and another table had already been served before us even though they had arrived after us. It was very clear that the waiter, Maykal, did not want to serve us. He took his sweet time checking in on everybody else except my table (only two people), he was rude, he was short, he gave me the wrong plate of food, didn’t offer us waters or to clean our table. Meanwhile at the table directly next to us (party of 6) he brought their meals promptly, their drinks quickly and offered them glasses of water. Maykal’s lack of customer service skills, his rudeness, and bringing out the wrong food and then blaming me for it created such an abysmal experience for my group and I that all we wanted was to leave. It was such an unfortunate experience because I thought this would be a nice place to eat at and treat my partner to after having driven all day.

Needless to say we will not be coming back to this place and I sincerely hope that management sees this and makes changes to the staffing because I do not wish for other customers to have the same...

This place aggravated me. The menu says that a cup of tea costs 1500. When I went to pay they charged me over 3300. It was the way this happened that annoyed me. They didn't tell me that when you add milk it becomes a cappuccino tea and therefore costs 2400. Then they didn't tell me that choosing oat milk cost 300 extra and THEN on top of that they charge taxes AND a service fee. I get that the taxes and service charge thing is something that happens in costa rica but it still sucks and lots of places don't do it so it's clearly a choice. Anyway, the whole interaction was just annoying because it was a surprise when I got the bill. If I'd known how much it was going to cost me it might have been different... or I'd have the choice not to get a tea...

Edit: thank you for your response. I'm not in Costa Rica anymore so I won't be able to get a meal. Your company policy is clearly to make the price differences unclear so please don't blame your new worker. If it was employee error the cashier would have compensated me when I complained in store. This is a company policy error and your new employee was following...

When I got to the place the waiter Maykel told me to sit wherever I preferred, I ordered my breakfast and they brought me the drinks, I was drinking my drinks when the waiter Maykel asked me to move to a smaller table just because 4 people arrived at the restaurant, it is in very bad taste and rude to move someone from their table when they are already drinking their drinks just because more people arrived at the place, when paying the bill, I indicated this situation to a woman who introduced herself as the manager and it was the worst, she completely ignored me, she started talking to the other woman who was making the coffees while I tried to explain the situation to her and she never even apologized, the customer service is the worst in this place, I do not...

I've dined at Amancer twice, and both times have been a great experience. The upscale yet welcoming atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for a relaxing breakfast. I tried the Green Omelette on both visits, and it was consistently delicious. The Hibiscus Soda was a unique and refreshing touch. Beyond breakfast, their Beef Fajitas and Gallo Pinto Breakfast were spot-on—flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying. The service was also excellent, with our server Johan being especially friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a quality breakfast or brunch spot, Amancer is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

I had a delicious breakfast at Cafetería El Amanecer last week. I was really tempted by the huevos rancheros, but went with the tostada francesa (with strawberries, bananas, blueberries, nuts and creme sauce), which was great. My cappuccino was perfect and my orange juice (in a double-walled glass) was fresh and cold. The inside is cute, bright and comfortable and there's plenty of outdoor covered patio seating. Parking is easy - at least in the morning when the plaza isn't super busy. Their staff was friendly and efficient and the bathroom was clean. I would definitely recommend and visit again.

A perfect experience for our first morning in Liberia. Our waitress, Hilary, was friendly, attentive, helpful, and fast with our orders. The food and drinks were delicious! Outdoor seating allowed us to eat just steps away from where our car was parked and watch it the whole time, which eased our minds as we were traveling between locations and had all of our belongings in the vehicle. Not busy, but a comforting mix of other American tourists as well as Tico families. Will always come here when looking for food in the area.
