My wife and I went there for dinner today, and we simply love this restaurant. This was our second visit and we plan to have more visits there in the future.
We had an entree, 2 pasta dishes for mains and a dessert, and we ate every bite of our food. The ingredients used are genuine Italian ingredients, and they're prepared by an Italian chef to perfection. Our entree was the eggplant parmesan which is so delicious and an excellent way to start the meal. For our main course, we had the lasagne and rigatoni amatriciana which were cooked to perfection, as the pasta was perfectly al dente, the sauces were well balanced and the guanciale in the amatriciana was perfectly crisp. But the best part of the meal, in my opinion, was the dessert. We had the tiramisu which was so deliciously creamy and the lady fingers were so light and fluffy. Overall this tasted like a genuine Italian tiramisu.
Moreover, we were greeted so warmly by Alexander (maybe the owner, I forgot to ask), who asked my wife and I about ourselves and we had a short yet fun chat. We were seated at a nice stone-top table, the interior design is so elegant to look at, and the Italian music that was playing combined with the other things made for a nice atmosphere.
In short we love going to Zero Sei because the food is authentic and delicious, the service is great, and the interior of the restaurant is so nice to look at.
If you're looking for complex fancy dishes, you may not find that here because the restaurant aims to serve simple Roman cuisine like an Italian grandmother would make. However, I would encourage people to give this simple yet...
Read moreNot sure where to begin. We visited the place last night for our 3rd anniversary and it's safe to say that it was the best choice we could have made. First of all the food is out of this world. We tried the supplì, the carbonara and la gricia and then ordered saltimbocca as a second. Each dish was transporting us back to the small streets of Rome, with their tiny cobble stones, romantic atmosphere and the classical laundry above your head and nonne yelling through the windows 😁 Step by step, bite by bite. The magic of authentic Italian food is something special and Chef Davide made sure we experience it fully. Second, the staff. A huge thank you to Alex and Viktoria for making us feel at home and taking the time to talk to us as if we have known each other for ages. Thank you also to Davide who went out of his way to chat with us and tell us more about the Zero Sei story. The complimentary desserts and the limoncello were fantastic and I'm in love with the tiramisù ❤️ An enormous thank you to everyone who made sure we had a special night and our most heartfelt compliments to mister Soldini for fighting the fight and bringing the Roman culture back into the world. Highly recommend visiting the place, regardless of the occasion. È stato un vero piacere conoscere tutti e vi ringrazio di cuore per le persone che siete e l'amore che avete per il mestiere, fa...
Read moreWe had small lunch at mid-day. Place was surprisingly empty - we were the only customers.
They have great offers for lunch: you can have pasta of the week, big selections of pastas, though without carbonara - as it is considered their main dish (for 12€), and on top coffee+tiramisu for 6€. My experience: pasta pesto was decent, al dente, nothing bad to mention, rather simple. I strongly recommend proper Italian espresso and tiramisu desert served in a cup. Both of great taste. I missed that espresso taste from Italy.
My spouse had carbonara, which was quite salty for her. As we were told, the taste comes only from proper Pecorino cheese exported directly from Rome and they don’t add salt as a spice. So I suppose, this is the real taste of Carbonara. Worth to mention - they brought us pieces of pecorino cheese just to try and see how salty is it naturally.
Anyway, you wouldn’t argue the basics of the taste and how you think it should be, because they have the Italian waitress! That’s amazing and allows you to travel to Italy for a short while.
Although I give 4 for the food, this place is definitely worth to visit and I would...
