Municipal Zoo — Attraction in Limassol Municipality

What a sad zoo. Among all the zoos I've had the opportunity to visit, this one unfortunately stands out for its subpar living conditions for the animals. I wonder if professionals are truly ensuring the well-being of the animals here. I even wonder if I wouldn't encourage everyone to visit the zoo, as it would contribute financially to its maintenance and the well-being of the animals

If you are looking for volunteers to help care for these poor creatures, I would be willing to get involved. The current conditions are alarming. For instance, I observed that the tortoises, of which there are at least fifty, have only a small puddle of water to swim in, with no adequate space. The monkeys appear undernourished, very thin, and desperately searching for food on the ground. The hippopotamus is hiding in a corner, with its head against the wall. The snakes are confined to spaces so narrow that they cannot stretch or move freely. The flamingos are in visibly dirty water, and their enclosure appears half empty. I also noticed goats with enormous udders that seem to have not been milked, hindering their ability to walk, as well as another goat with two broken front legs. Some kangaroos have head injuries. The fish aquarium is in a pitiful state with no security, as we can open the aquarium ourselves.

The situation is simply unacceptable. Should I continue to report these issues? My outrage toward this zoo is profound, and it is imperative that your establishment takes immediate action to improve their living conditions. Even a five year old child could recognize the distress of...

It was better than expected and of what I remember it to be as a young kid. There is still a lot of room for improvement with cleanliness of the zoo and how animals are kept. I truly believe that the whole park is such a huge missed opportunity for Limassol. There have been some improvements done with the addition of the play area but with a little TLC it could look amazing. First of all there should be no access to any vehicles. There should be a new pathway through the park, zoo, playground, theatre etc. The thing that would make everything look amazing is some proper landscape design by a professional with some Cypriot herbs, bushes, flowers. Absolutely cruel and horrible torture chamber of a zoo. Animals were all under weight and not nearly enough water for such conditions. There were different species all crammed together and the cleanliness was despicable . Those who have put a 5 star review are as bad, as it simply is not hard to see the harsh conditions that these creatures are kept in. The monkeys were severely malnourished and there was not a single drop of water in sight .

The emus had hardly any feathers and looked weak and dazed .
