This is not a museum but a rather small papyrus shop. However, it’s definitely worth a visit. All the positive reviews here are true.
We stumbled upon this place by chance while walking by (it’s slightly off the main street). The shop has an impressive selection of authentic papyrus. Yasir, who works there, is truly passionate about his craft. He shared a lot of interesting information about papyrus production, Egyptian symbols, and more. It was a fascinating conversation and a great experience! Such a contrast to other market vendors, who can often be rude and pushy.
Yasir is a polite and knowledgeable person. We ended up buying a small papyrus, even though we hadn’t planned to! But it was entirely our decision—Yasir never pressured us. Thank you, we had a wonderful time.
The prices are fixed (there are price tags). Maybe bargaining is possible, but we didn’t even try because the service was so respectful.
If you’re looking for a papyrus souvenir, I believe this is the best...

Very friendly owner, who explained the history behind papyrus and the process it goes through.
Wide selection of different designs, concepts and pictures. We explained exactly what we were looking for and he was able to show us what he had.
The owner generously provided us with some extras after we gave payment which was very kind of him

The owner's daughter kindly offered to show us inside the mosque. Is definitely a must to visit, even if you're looking to buy or just to find out the history of...
