Moments later, the security guard arrived with an ipad that contained a live CCTV feed, therefore he would have been fully aware there was no issue, yet he still insisted on the cashier’s unjustified search of my personal belongings. Me and my family were just here in Monoprix to buy stuff for our trip. Everything went smoothly in the shop, we gathered everything we needed, but the problems started appearing at the cashier desk. Just for clearance, the cashier didn't ask anyone to open their bags for safety reasons. However, when it was our turn, the cashier asked us in English to open our bags to check if we stole anything. This would be completely fine if it was a standard procedure for everyone, but she didn't ask anyone except for us, nor did the neighbouring cashier. This wasn't our first time in the shop. 中国人请谨慎光顾。We are from China and visited this supermarket on August 2, 2022. While we were checking out, the cashier staff (a young girl) asked my wife and I to open our backpacks to check. I thought it was for security reasons and everyone needed to be checked, but after then I observed that only us were asked to check , because we don't speak French. Did we look like thieves? It was really ridiculous, our car window just got broken in Nice and all our luggage was stolen.
