Very pretty place to have a lunch and cafe-a-emporter. The stones/pebbles are smooth and soft, easy to get comfortable (bring a towel though), and best of all, no sand everywhere, no mess. The beaches, all of them, in this town are invariably clean and orderly, well done. Not a speck of litter or trash anywhere.

The only nuisance is the super aggressive gulls, who are like winged thieves, no fear, they will steal your food if uncovered, they are fast, stealthy, and a bit scary. Waves beating rock, sliding, is calming noise, clean air, sun, blue, distant airport, all very nice. And the promenade is wide and smooth, lots of places to sit (free chairs, benches, all in good shape), not many homeless. Good place to be. If only water would warm...

Rollerscating, bicycling, skateboarding, alongside of joggers, pedestrians, can be found here. The weather in December is a mere 16 to 19 degrees Centigrades, making it pleasant for outdoor activities. Alongside the promenade you will find restaurants, opposite the beach are Cafes, Hotels ( with the Negresco being the most famous one. ) To fully enjoythe view one should go to the end and climb up the stairs to the castle. It’s a very long beach but very pebbly with quite a deep shelf to negotiate before you actually get into the sea. You definitely need swimming shoes because it’s torture to walk on the pebbles without them. There is no shade so bring your own parasol, otherwise renting one for half a day start at 20€ (approx). If you’re a person who likes to lie on the beach to sunbathe, bring extra thick towels or mats. There are also (cold) showers which are a bonus, especially in this heat. The sea is lovely and...
