The location of the hotel is great, right by the ocean. And the front desk staff is nice.
However for a 4-star hotel their drive for achieving customer satisfaction is one of the poorest I have experienced. We stayed just for 2 nights and the first night the AC didn't work. When we complained, they sent someone to check just to see if we were setting the thermostat correctly, which we were and left it for more than 3 hours but it wasn't cooling. The gentleman, who was not a technical staff member just told me to set the thermostat and then left. When the room didn't improve, I complained again and they gave me another room on the same floor where the AC again did not work. We gutted it out through the first night but it was one of the most uncomfortable nights we had on our 2 week euro excursion. We were there from May 23-25 2018 so it was very hot. I complained the next day and finally got a technician to come and fix the AC (thank god). Still I was pretty ticked since we spent good coin on the two nights and had such an unpleasant experience the first night. Before checking out, i made the management aware that having us sleep with no AC the first night was unacceptable and there should be some form of compensation. I politely suggested either a credit or perk like laundry service would go a long way. I was instead accused rudely by a senior manager and his lackey (name was Javier, unfortunately don't know the senior manager's name) of 'negotiating' and their best offer was offering me complimentary late checkout. I told them I didn't need a late checkout and that was the best they could offer or give me a discount on laundry service. I was extremely upset that management was satisfied with their response on the AC situation when they were hell bent on not offering me a room on any other floor or willing to do their due diligence on finding another room with working AC (instead I had to go check which was absurd to begin with). No apologies until I complained, no offer again until I complained.
The only positive I'll say was another manager named Guillame was the only one understanding and willing to work with me. He was the reason actually our room's AC got fixed in the first place (he was proactive in getting the technician to our room the next day) and came to our room to smooth things over with me after I gave the sr. manager a piece of my mind after he insulted me about trying to 'negotiate'. I appreciated Guillame, who was able to authorize complimentary laundry service. But it's tough to feel good after being insulted by management for a problem they were responsible for.
There was definite arrogance on the part of the management. Complaint is also going to go directly to radisson and better business bureau. Will never ever stay with radisson blu in Nice, they seem happy enough to just get airline staff staying there anyways and clearly didn't care...
Read moreThis is the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in France and possibly ever. We stayed here for 5 nights and regretted every night, especially for how overpriced this hotel is. Our room was outdated and dirty. The bathrooms had dirt and hair and the floors were dirty. The tv remote was disgustingly sticky. One of the coffee mugs was uncleaned. I don’t think they actually clean the rooms at all but they do make it look nice initially.
We stayed in the balcony room and that was a mistake. The view is beautiful but the rooms are not even remotely sound proof. The hotel’s beach club plays music incredibly loudly (on weeknights) until 1am, so if you need to wake up early don’t stay here. It sounds fun in theory but it really is awful if you’re staying in one of the rooms facing the club. We called down asking when it would stop and they said around 1 probably because the city won’t let them play it longer. That on top of the traffic was miserable.
The hospitality service here is absolutely awful. They only “cleaned” the room and replaced our towels 2 out of 5 nights even though we asked them to come every day. I called down for towels, waited an hour and 20 minutes, had to call two more times before I finally got towels. They only replaced toilet paper once, I called down for more and it took over 45 minutes. One of the three times I had to ask for towels, they fully walked into the room without knocking. This place is seriously awfully managed. I would never stay here again.
The couch in our room has two giant gross stains on it and the cushion falls forward opening the mattress when you sit on it. It was essentially useless for us.
Their website falsely advertises “screen mirroring” on the TV but it isn’t actually a function. I called to ask just to make sure and was told the TVs are old and don’t have that feature. So they straight up lie on their website. It isn’t a smart TV either.
The location is fine but the water is murky, dirty, and cloudy. It’s significantly better anywhere else down the beach! If you can ride a bike, there are a lot of Lime Bikes near the hotel and it’s a 10-15 minute ride to Old Nice. That was genuinely the only decent part about this hotel. There aren’t any stores or decent restaurants close within walking distance to the hotel if you need something fast and quick. The food at the hotel is awful, don’t eat here.
You should go to Castel Beach Club, instead of the hotel’s beach club, across from Old Nice for a day if you want to rent chairs on the water, it’s cheaper than hotel rates, food and drinks are delicious, and the service/chairs are SIGNIFICANTLY nicer!!
Any time I had to call down, they sounded rude and inconvenienced.
Nice is absolutely amazing and beautiful! This hotel is...
Read moreRadisson Blu Hotel in Nice, located on Promenade des Anglais, fails to meet the expectations of a 4 or 5-star hotel. At best, it could be compared to a 3-star establishment, which is disappointing for a location with such a reputation.
While the hotel's beachfront location might seem like an advantage, its significant distance from the city center makes it less convenient for those wanting to explore Nice. The first impression the hotel gives is that of an outdated place in urgent need of renovation. The corridors smell of dust, and the carpets are visibly dirty, contributing to a sense of neglect.
The services are also below standard. I had to wait nearly 40 minutes to check in, even though there was only one person ahead of me. This clearly shows a lack of organization and efficiency on the staff's part. The sea-view room, while theoretically an advantage, is not impressive at all. Signs of wear and tear are evident, and the room elements are far from what should be expected in a hotel of this caliber. The sound insulation is inadequate, allowing noise from the outside traffic and other rooms to be heard.
The breakfast is, at best, acceptable, but certainly not varied enough to justify the price paid. There was also an unpleasant incident at the pool, where I witnessed a humorous yet frustrating situation: a novice bartender was unable to serve customers, leading to a queue of 5-7 people while the senior bartender was absent. This incident further highlights the lack of professionalism among the staff.
In addition to this, I had a disappointing experience with the late checkout process. I requested late checkout a day before leaving and was told it would cost 200 euros (for staying until 6 PM) but that I should check back on the morning of checkout to confirm availability. The next day, when I returned to confirm, I was suddenly informed that the cost would be for a full night’s stay. After explaining that I had been quoted a lower price the day before, they finally agreed to honor the original price. However, after 12 PM, my room access was suspended, forcing me to go back to reception, where I had to wait another 15 to 30 minutes just to resolve the issue. I’m on vacation to relax, not to spend my time dealing with long waits at reception.
Recently, I stayed at another Radisson hotel in a different country, where the experience was entirely different and very positive. In comparison, at Radisson Blu in Nice, I felt cheated, overcharged for a stay that doesn’t justify the cost. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel and believe it does not reflect the standards of the...
