Le Potiron Gourmet — Restaurant in Nice

We have been there because we saw good rating on google and it was close to our hotel. Given my experience, we believe some of the reviews here are fake!

First of all, the food was average but the waiter (bald guy) is terrible person, very rude. He does not have any soft skills. He was so aggressive, shouting at a couple of guests including us. He shouted one couple because they did not have confirmation on the reservation and he was so angry thats why he dropped some of the glasses. He also shouted at us because he did not want to change our cutlery although it was used for the starters and we asked them to replace before the main course. Upon our natural request, he was frustrated and he started saying something in French - we believe he was saying bad words to us. He was completely red and he slammed the door even his hand was stucked in the door.

The service was incredibly delayed. We were only able to finish our starters in 1 hours 45 minutes. We believe that he was deliberately serving in delays to our table to give bad experience. He already ruined our experience and mood from the first minute. Whenever any couples left the restaurant we were hearing negative comments about the guy and we understood he was extremely unprofessional and ready to fight to any guests.

The booking is leading you to choose a seating area with two options (terrace or indoor) so if you choose terrace, do not expect any terrace or balcony. Basically, you will just sit in the street on the paving stone and you will smell exhaust smoke from the cars.

[RACIST ALERT] The service here is incredibly poor!! The restaurant seems to be understaffed; we waited 20 minutes just for water. Despite calling our server multiple times, he never looked our way even when our bottle was empty.

To our embarrassment, we had to eat our foie gras without bread because we couldn't get his attention to fulfill our request!! 😡😡

When we walked up to him and asked for the Wi-Fi password, he promised it later, but we waited another 15 minutes. Even when we tried to signal him, he either didn't notice or chose not to respond. In the entire dining experience, he NEVER checked if we needed anything or asked if we had a good time.

The food was good, but the dining experience was dreadful, and I will never recommend this or eat here again!

We went out for a regular French cuisine dinner and got there by the app. We ordered slices of peppers topped by vegetables as a starter - great, by the way - and had salmon and sheep as main dishes. The ingredients were no stranger to us at all, but the way everything was made, how it looked and how it tasted, conquered us. We were well served and very well treated, despite being non-French speakers, and appreciate that so much.
