I’m a long time client and when I went to discuss my dissatisfaction with a product I had bought which contained a cancer label, I was refused an exchange of products and yelled out of the store. Sad.
Also hilarious the concept of denying an exchange requested by a customer on an exceptional and reasonable basis in order to save yourself a few euros only to lose the customer’s loyalty in doing so and thereby also hundreds and potentially thousands of euros in future revenues. The response is often the amateurish one of “yeah but if I accept it this time, I have to accept it for all customers”. Such logic would quickly be recognized by any trained businessperson as plainly and obviously absurd, as (a) this was a private conversation (and would have remained private), (b) the manager herself admitted that this was the first time this had happened in her 10 years of owning the store (so basically zero risk), and (c) a storeowner, just by accepting one exchange, doesn’t waive their right to deny future exchanges for other customers in completely different circumstances.
