The pizza here is excellent, I come here every time I visit Paris. Unfortunately, I believe the staff stole my purse during my last visit. I’d worn my purse throughout my meal because Paris is notorious for pickpocketing. Shortly before leaving, I went to the restroom and unwisely hung my bag on the chair when I returned to the table to finish the last sips of my drink. My sister took a photo of me with my bag seen in the picture. At this moment, a young male staff member who wasn’t our waiter came to clear our plates. We got up a moment later to leave and my bag was gone. Our waitress seemed unsurprised and unbothered by this, immediately suggesting that it’d been the man dining near us. This man left with his three small children prior to the photo my sister took, however, making that impossible. We were seated in a small cove of the restaurant at a table in the corner. There were very few diners inside and there was no pathway/foot traffic near our table. We explained this and our waitress’s response was simply to irritably question how we were going to pay for our food. I asked the woman at the register to review their security cameras because there was one directly over our table. She stated that only the owner had access to this and promptly called her. The owner reviewed the footage and admitted that she saw who stole my purse. The employee handed the phone to me then as the owner frantically told her she didn’t want to talk to me. She then hung up on me and declined the employee’s return call. I continued to try to contact the owner for weeks but she refused to speak with me and divulge what she observed regarding the theft. I can’t prove that the male staff member stole it but it seems to be the only likely possibility. The owner, however, can prove it one way or another and has suspiciously refused to. After reading the other negative reviews here and seeing the rude, condescending way the owner responds to her customers while taking absolutely no accountability for any wrong-doing on Sette’s part, I realize it was naive of me to ever expect any sort of customer service from her. Sadly, it appears from other reviews that I’m also not the only person who believes they’ve been stolen from by the restaurant itself.
I would dine here with caution and situational awareness. Or, safer still, get this delicious pizza to go. Safest of all, find another pizzeria. Paris is a huge city with plenty of...
Read moreEDIT : they made the tomato sauce great again (I tried twice) They told me it was just a mistake and other people told them that the same day. Updated from 3 stars to 5 stars. Thanks Sette :) ORIGINAL REVIEW : Hey, I often come to get margaritas, I'm not sure what happened tonight (6th of October) but the tomato sauce tasted very different from usual. It had a cheap sugar taste (similar to ketchup) I couldn't even finish the pizza and asked my roommates, to see if it was me, they thought the same. If you changed the tomato sauce recipe or used an other provider please roll back to "the old one". I'll come back try again someday and adjust the review cause all other pizzas I got were really good...
Read moreI waited a while before giving this place only 2/5 stars to make sure it's fair. Why so low compared with the usual 4.5 average? Because I was disappointed with my Margherita pizza! It was simply tasteless. And yes I know it's a simple 3 ingredients pizza, but this is exactly why it's really hard to mess it up. They should work on their tomato sauce, change their mozza supplier and don't be so stingy with the oregano. The dough had an interesting texture for what it's worth. I'm sorry to say this but you are better off going to Pizza Popolare (if you can stomach the queue). I fell for the hipster look of the place, don't do the same. You...
