Very bad experience. I don't understand how this place got a 4 stars rating.
Both the room and the overall place were clearly lacking maintenance. In the room, the bathroom cabinet was literally falling apart (the wooden front was not fixed to the cabinet, just laid there, you could see the piping behind and it was falling off to the floor very easily and frequently). For two days (out of 4 we stayed there), water pressure was extremely low, and for almost one entire day there was no hot water at all.
The room was.. claustrophobic at best (the entire hotel is, for a fact), but I understand this is something expected for a hotel in central Paris. Still, to me it was not comfortable at all, and I'm not even that big or tall. Ventilation was pretty bad, and given that the shower was in the same ambient as the bed (no physical separation), after taking a quick shower you also end up enjoying a sauna. The room plan was also either not updated, or fake (it was not matching the actual layout of the room, at all). One evening we got some takeaway, and asked the receptionist if we could eat it in the dining room. He said "sure, but you can also use the bedroom for that", to which we answered, "in the bedroom, where?" (he didn't reply). There was a single window with very limited light coming in, we never managed to keep the lights turned off even during bright sunny days. To get to the balcony (which felt somewhat abusive), you had to use the window (like, an actual window, not a French door). Also you could easily hear people in the nearby rooms, one night we enjoyed someone on the other side of the wall throwing up (really, we heard him coming inside, "singing" some very guttural sounds for a good 5/10 minutes while on the toilet (at least I hope he was the toilet), flushing the water and then leaving the room).
Breakfast was meh. There was little choice, and most food was not that good.
On the plus side, it is located in a pretty central location, if you like to walk you can easily get to the most famous landmarks in Paris in anything between 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Overall, not recommended at all. I expect MUCH better from a...
Read moreI recently stayed here, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory due to serious security concerns. ||During my stay, we kept the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door for the entire duration, yet on the final night, I noticed that several items from the minibar were missing. This raised immediate concerns as housekeeping had not entered our room—towels and bedding were untouched—so the question arose of who accessed our room.||This situation is extremely alarming, as it highlights a breach of trust and raises questions about the safety protocols in place. To make matters worse, there appeared to be no security cameras to review what happened, leaving us with no way to know who entered our room.||When I approached the front desk about this, the receptionist was dismissive of my concerns, repeatedly saying we wouldn’t be charged for the drinks. Despite me emphasizing that the issue wasn’t about the cost, but the breach of security, he failed to take the matter seriously. Moreover, no manager was available late at night to address the problem, and I was told there was no way to contact one. Since we left early the next morning, we were unable to escalate the matter further.||I strongly advise other guests—particularly female travelers—to be cautious when staying here. The lack of adequate security measures and indifferent staff response in the face of a potential safety threat are serious red flags. The hotel’s failure to address this issue leaves me with little confidence in their ability to ensure guest safety.||I hope management takes this feedback seriously and implements better safety measures to prevent...
Read moreLovely little hotel which is quirky but definitely not 4 stars.
As part of the pre-check in I thought it exceptional customer service that you check to see if any other amenities or services are required prior to arrival. I duly completed this yet none of which were accommodated for during our stay. The Hammam was not booked in, I had to request the ironing board, iron and kettle to the room from reception, and the additional service I requested to the room for a specific time was not completed - the latter of which I could not complain about as it was supposed to be a surprise! You either did not receive the email response (in which case you have a problem with your system and communication) or your staff/hotels do not complete the tasks requested.
The ironing board delivered to the room was practically falling apart.
The selection of tea with the kettle was one teabag of different kinds - yet two cups(?) Therefore the staff knew that there were two people staying in the room, and no milk.
The footing cover at the end of the bed was stained.
The bathroom toilet and sink had hairs upon arrival. And the hair dryer was broken - you supplied a spare however the original was still left in place(?).
The shower screen does not seal at the base of the door so it leaks when in use all over the floor.
A rear access tile was loose and not grouted above the toilet.
The staff were friendly and helpful when required.
For the rate paid and the standards to what was received - a 2 star review for what this hotel should...
