During my recent visit to Munich, I had the pleasure of dining at this amazing restaurant, an experience that solidified its reputation as one of the best German beer gardens I've ever been to. Nestled in the heart of Munich, this traditional beer garden offers a quintessential Bavarian atmosphere that is both inviting and charming. One of the highlights of my visit was meeting Chef Sedgwick. His warm hospitality and expert culinary recommendations added a personal touch to my dining experience. Following his suggestion, I ordered the crispy pork knuckle, a dish that takes roughly an hour to prepare. While the wait may seem long, it is absolutely worth it. The pork knuckle arrived with an impeccably crispy skin that gave way to tender, juicy meat bursting with flavor. Each bite was a testament to the meticulous preparation and quality ingredients. The accompanying sides were equally delightful, providing a perfect complement to the main dish and enhancing the overall taste experience. The ambiance, combined with Chef Sedgwick's culinary expertise, made for an unforgettable dining experience. The beer garden's authentic Bavarian charm, coupled with exceptional food, makes it a must-visit for anyone in Munich. I cannot recommend this place enough for its outstanding service, delicious cuisine, and the perfect setting to enjoy a memorable meal.

We came in during a cold and rainy day, to be seated in a warm restaurant with great music and smiling, helpful service. I had found the restaurant upon a suggestion because they serve gluten free items including a pretzel, amongst other items. What a great surprise a I must eat gluten free. While the restaurant normally has a seperate gluten free menu, it is not available during Oktoberfest. However, the server gladly pointed out the items they have available, (as well as the menu noting allergens). The food was excellent, both my gluten free items as well as my husband's "normal" menu items. To be honest, he actually liked my gluten free dumplings more than the others he has had , (due to the texture). That is really unheard of! Service was friendly, atmosphere was great, and the food was excellent. Typical German dishes, and a GREAT gluten free selection.

Recently, I had a delightful dinner at a place where the atmosphere was beautifully decorated, the service was professional and friendly, and the food was flawless and delicious. We ordered goulash, chestnut soup, green salad, cheese fondue, Wiener schnitzel, and a children’s menu schnitzel. Everything was perfect except for the children’s schnitzel, which was made from tough, inedible meat that couldn’t even be cut with a knife, let alone chewed. I cannot compare prices as it was my first meal in Munich in many years. Based on my standards, it deserved 5 stars, but due to the disappointing children’s schnitzel, I give it 4 stars. I had ordered the children’s portion due to I need small amout (although I don’t have a small child), so I recommend avoiding the children’s menu if you have a little one.

Don't EVER plan any event in this venue, especially if your point of contact is Constantin.

We recently had a wedding here and everything was a hassle with Constantin. What made things worst is everything we had pre arranged and organised. Food options, terrible communication skill, time to serve food and drinks, drinks on the menu, seating layout, the budget.. EVERYTHING was not done as we spoke about or agreed upon. One point that really annoyed me was I asked for all the beer served to be the Paulaner Lager which is around 4.9% but Constantin made all his staff members serve the Oktoberfest beer which is around 6.3%. That was a very clear rule because I wanted people to know the strength of the beers they were drinking but they went ahead and did what they wanted to do anyway. Also at the end of the night they tried to over charge us by €400 euros or so. If Constantin could do basic maths, follow the plan and READ AND RESPOND to his emails. This would have never been an issue.

I would never recommend this place or to deal with Constantin on my worst enemy.

I could go with more but I'm trying to keep this...

Abysmal service. Took me 70mins to get just 2 gluten free Brezels & pay. They didn’t even need heating. Could have had them in 2mins. Big area for self service NOT clearly labelled & no gluten free options. The service area is served by about 10 wait staff for maybe 20 tables. They all power walk around like they are overloaded, & ignore the customers in the process. Firstly I was seated on someone elses table that was reserved, then had to move inside to get s table. Inside was worse as it meant even more staff walking psst me. Finally a guy served me & brought my drink. He then went to help in the kitchen for a big party & my 2 cold brezels were forgotten for another 30m. Staff are not coping with being moderately busy & focusing on delivery & payment. I could have walked out so many times without paying . Massive restaurant with lots of traditional Bavarian fare. If your in a big group & speak german,or happy to do self service with no dietary issues then maybe ok. But for a clearly themed restaurant with dressed up staff & dressed up prices I...
