I live 200 meters from this Tesco and unfortunately I have to see a shameful decline in the last year! They have 30 cash for payment and 27 are always closed, only 3 work, ALWAYS! To take some bread or milk every day 10 minutes in a row, on Saturday morning I got 40 (forty !!) minutes and 22 people ahead, waiting endlessly! They closed the restaurant where I bought the chicken and often ate it there, why? They have no staff !! Often empty shelves for days, inconceivable! I am Italian and have lived and worked here for 8 years, I pay taxes, I have a life, I studied the Hungarian language, I didn't think I would see an English colossus so badly treated in Hungary! Why not open at least 20 cases and ALWAYS create these third world expectations? Why close the nice restaurant inside? Why not load some products for 4-5 days? They have no staff, the few workers always say! We are in a European capital ?? It was 10 times better 2 years ago, everything just got worse! I have been working in Hungarian restaurants here for years and I also worked as an emergency cashier! I'd like to work for you, for convenience since I live 4 minutes away on foot, I asked the question to load the shelves at night, never an answer, maybe because I'm a foreigner? If the staff is missing, hiring him as you do in civilized countries, do 1 week of training and anyone can work with you, don't make too many claims and don't make the precious ones otherwise you make these figures like a mall in Burundi! If you hire to load the shelves and you are not slavers, I will come, so there is no shortage of chocolate milk and buffalo mozzarella for 4-5 consecutive days, or if you train me you can open the fourth kassza (out of 30)! I am a regular customer out of necessity but really disappointed with how to treat the customer, you are worse for your choice, corporate! Hire people and give customers a NORMAL...

The largest store I've ever seen! And it didn't feel crowded at all even during a busy time. I was able to get the winter clothes I've been looking for and some Christmas tree decorations. There is also a small food service in the back. If you get multiple items, make sure to plate them each separately as most are by the kilogram. We didn't explore the entire store since we had limited time, but we didn't see any sort of healthcare items like bandaids, toothpaste, etc. I'm sure it's there, but it wasn't obvious to us.

If getting transit direction from Google, the map will take through a neighborhood from the Újpest M3 station. The neighborhood isn't very pleasant, and the road cutting through to Tesco is closed. Even if you go around, you will walk to the back of the building and have to walk all the way around to the front.

Instead, walk along Vaci út by the bus station and in front of Budapest Bank and the walk...

( a mosdó, wc koszos!!)

Possibly my second favourite Tesco in Budapest: it's very big, even if it has been reduced in area since I was coming here five years ago, and you can find all the products Tesco sells. In fact, the clothes and shoes area (for women, children and men) is vast and well stocked, selling not only Tesco' brand F&F but brands as well. Additionally, you can find toys, homeware, electric and seasonal items. Of course, in the food islands all sort of food, also fresh (there still is a meat counter), is available. Their selection of gluten free items, for example, is really large. The supermarket is easily reachable with public transport, since it's just a short walk from the metro station.
