This place came highly recommended so I decided to go ahead and order a 1.5kg Belgian Chocolate vegan cake for a VERY special occasion(read-wedding). We went and spoke to the owners/managers on two occasions (less than a week apart), but were quoted a different price for the exact same cake. We were told that we’re mistaken and even though we knew we weren’t we decided to not argue because we had so many things going on and 500 bucks wasn’t worth it. (I would like to mention that the cakes are on the pricier side but we were more than happy to spend the money given that we had very high expectations). We were promised a cake loaded with whole strawberries all over the top of the cake — something we’ve recently seen on their Instagram as well and we were super excited to see something similar. Because of the loaded strawberries look they themselves had recommended to go with our names/message written on the base of the cake in stead of the message topper. When we went to collect the cake a day before our function, the cake had pretty sorry looking strawberries ONLY on the circumference many of which were not even whole. When we inquired about the same they AGAIN told us we were mistaken and that the decision was only to have strawberries on the sides (which made no sense because we chose the names on the base for the very opposite reason). Strapped for time with no brain space for argument we paid the 4200 bucks and left. The cake was decent, good frosting, not too sweet but it fell short of our high expectations. I've been following Baked Love's Instagram and their cakes look amazing, which is why I was quite excited to try this place out. I placed an order for the 1 kg Mango Victoria sponge cake and croissants. It would be an understatement to say that I was disappointed. Firstly, while the cake looked amazing, there was not much to the taste or the technique. I would like to convey to the bakers that there is more to baking than just aesthetics. The mango juice had trickled down to the bottom and the cake had become soggy. Second, the meringue was bland and did not complement the cake at all. This cake was for a birthday, by the way, and it was a huge downer.

I could have gotten past the insipid cake as a one-off experience, but the croissants were just as average, lacking flavor and the buttery aroma that I can count on as a given at any other bakery/Starbucks.

I had a bad experience while trying to order a cake from my end. There was no reply back from the watts app number and when I texted that I am not ordering then the manager Sarah called.She should work on her communication skills and definately not to be rude to customers. She is so high headed that she doesn't even listen to the customers queries and just tells me about Covid and small work force blah,blah,blah .. then when I told her you could have just texted back instead of delaying the inevitable for 24 hrs. The problem here is when you have work you don't respect the customers and when it's scarce you want to worship the customers. Be HUMBLE. No more ordering...
