Almost 4 decades ago, Mr. Banchharam Ghosh, the man behind the brand, set up a small shop in the heart of Central Kolkata, West Bengal. He started initially, with a small menu and the most notable point which made this shop stand out from the rest at that time was that all its sweets were prepared with the best quality Ghee. Read moreWe love Sweets,Ghee and Snacks of Bancharam. Its aam kasundi is also very tasty. We generally visit Bancharam Lake market store and our experience is always good.Recently,I have visited Bancharam Gariahat shop on 31st May.It was close to golpark and we had a very bad experience. We ordered two rashmalai and salesman immediately provided it.One rashmalai when uncovered was looking untidy so requested for fresh one.Salesman argued and provided the same with a cover attached to the container and told me to open. When I refused to had it he gave me a chilled one which didn't looked fresh either.I tasted it a bit and found taste was odd and the product seems expired or rotten one.On complaining he gave a fresh one without a spoon and ignored the request for spoon.Requesting Bancharam marketing authority to keep sensible salesman as we as a customer could have gone to any other sweet shop like Balaram or Kamdhenu. If you keep salesman like this you will loose your...
Read moreHeard the name a lot, the sweets are great in taste and quality as well but bit overpriced. They have numerous outlets all over kolkata even they have a tie up with biswa bangla thus all their sweets be it baked rosogolla or sarbhaja are supplied by them only. The reason I reduced their stars is at the outlet near GST bhawan I was rudely told not to take pictures. If they want to enforce something like it they must put up a notice or something, interrupting your customers is not a smart move guys. They do have amazing sweets no doubt but there are shops like balaram mullick which serve everything better than these. They are pioneer s in some sweets I've known i wouls suggest try their baked rosogollas for sure. They also have nice chocolate mithais. If you are planning to take away rosogollas you can buy the tin...
