I am a patient of Dr Kavita Rao and had been to this hospital three times. I had an appointment this month to see her which was booked a month prior.
On the day of my appointment, I confirmed my appointment with her on their what's app chat. When i reached on the said day, I was informed that she was on leave. I was surprised and asked them why they hadn't informed me prior, in which case I would have changed the date. I was coming to their hospital only to see her.
They said that was not a problem, that I could see another doctor who sees her patients in her absence. Since I was new, I thought this was the regular policy of the regular hospital. Plus I had spent two hours going to the hospital and would take another two hours to return home. I had also incurred cost is travel. So I said I would.
I was not called in for a while after the work up was done. I approached the reception and asked them how long it will take. They said there were 10 patients before me! Which was after 1.5 hours after my appointment time. Instead of waiting there, I said I would finish some work in the vicinity. They said they would call me and took me number.
I waited for two hours for their call. I also tried to contact them on what's app and call number so that I could find out with no response. I finally returned after two hours of wait. They informed me that there are still 4 patients before me. By now I was really flustered. I said this was taking too long and I would encounter traffic to return back home which would take me more than three hours to reach back.
They then proceeded to fix me up with a third doctor who was free at the moment. He did see me and asked me to continue the same treatment and to take a follow up appointment with him after two months. I asked about meeting Dr Kavita Rao but they informed me that she would still be on leave for several months!
After returning home, I decided to messege the doctor directly because I found it all very strange. She got back to me and said that she had quit the hospital a month ago! This was really shocking and totally unacceptable. So I messeged the hospital appointment staff stating that this was not done. They should have informed me about this before my appointment itself. I also had paid the same amount of consultancy fees.
They called me back promptly and told me that no one had any idea about Dr Rao having left definitely. I reiterated all the issues and that I would like a refund of my fees. And that I would be reviewing this matter. They said they would definitely look into it with the management but it will take a couple of days.
I'm still awaiting their call and a resolution for the same. This practice is totally unacceptable and should not be allowed at any medical institution where it matters what doctor you want to see and have taken an appointment for the same.

Read moreMy wife had her cataract surgery of both the eyes recently. The specialist, Dr. Hitesh Sharma, advised for it and did the surgery first for the right eye and then the left one within a week of each other. It is worth mentioning the personal interest he took in the seventy years old patient right from the first consultation, diagnosis, surgery and post surgery follow-up. His guidance has been very fruitful. My wife now has clear vision and continues with the eye-drops as per the schedule prescribed. Definitely, we appreciate his services. We should also mention that the staff (office, technical, nursing, maintenance,,,) involved from the registration counter onwards till discharge after surgery were going about their jobs professionally and efficiently. There was no waste of time. A special mention of appreciation goes to the Counsellor, Ms. Prachi, who took care of processing cashless facility with the concerned TPA, kept us updated and explained in detail the relative advantages of the options available for selection of the intra-occular lens. This enabled us to make a considered choice. Also acknowledge her follow-up enquiry to know the patient's progress and requesting to contact our Doctor or the hospital if the need arises. A good experience, over all....
