With its spacious layout spread across four air-conditioned floors and a total area of around 250,000 sq ft, it was once among the earliest mall experiences for many in the suburbs.

However, while it holds nostalgic value and still sees decent footfall, the mall is now in need of a much-needed facelift. The retail mix could be far more appealing—introducing better lifestyle and fashion brands like Shoppers Stop, Marks & Spencer, Pantaloons, Westside, Zara, H&M, FabIndia or Vero Moda would go a long way in attracting a more diverse and quality-conscious crowd.

Currently, the variety of stores feels limited, and shoppers seeking premium choices often find themselves heading to other malls nearby. With the upcoming Oberoi Mall at the former Nirmal Lifestyle location, competition is about to get much tougher—and unless R Mall takes steps now, it may struggle to keep up.

Parking, too, remains an area for improvement. A smoother entry-exit experience and better-managed parking slots would add significantly to the overall comfort for visitors.

RMall is one of the oldest malls in Mumbai & Perhaps the first of Mulund. This has a long history, has seen many ups and downs. Initially great brands & lot many shops were available here & made this a perfect spot for hanging out for every age groups. Lot of activities were / celebrations were done in the festive seasons & this mall initially used to witness huge crowds. In the recent past, due to misc. reasons the footfall in this mall has declined drastically. (New malls emerged in the suburb & the nearby localities, major brands closed there operations here, Big Bazar which once upon a time used to attract a huge crowd too is not available here & so on…). In the current times, very few outlets & few shops are running here. After the increasing inclination towards OTT, there has a significant fall in people coming here for watching movie on big screen. Mall is managed well though, one will find it clean at all times. Even today one will get good brands over here for food & clothing. Point of caution: In recent times, there have been instances of scammers / looters roaming around the mall area & target youths. One needs to be careful & alert...
