Horrible Service & Unprofessional Staff – Not Worth Visiting
I visited Madhuban on 25.03.2025 with a group of 10 people to celebrate a birthday, but the experience was extremely disappointing. While the restaurant’s decoration is beautiful, everything else—especially the service—was terrible.
From the very beginning, the service was below average. We had to take our own food and starters, which was unexpected. Even the welcome drink, which was supposed to be included, was not provided. This made the experience feel more like a self-service setup rather than a proper dining experience.
The food variety was also disappointing. In the chaat section, the only thing available was pani puri—no other options. The starters included only dhoklas and bhajiyas, which felt very limited. In the main course, they had 3–4 types of vegetables, which was good, but the rice options were very basic—just plain rice, jeera rice, khichdi, and lemon rice. There was no pulao or biryani, which was very disappointing for a restaurant of this type.
To make matters worse, most of the food was sweet, even the main course dishes. There was barely any balance in flavors, making the meal feel bland and unappealing.
The worst part was the unhygienic food. I found a hair in my food and immediately informed a staff member, but he completely ignored my complaint. When I told another staff member, he just took the spoon to the kitchen without any apology or further response. This level of negligence is completely unacceptable in a restaurant.
At 10:55 PM, while we were still eating, the restaurant suddenly switched off the lights and AC, clearly in a rush to close. This was extremely rude and disrespectful, as we were still in the middle of our meal. To make matters worse, the staff started eating their own food in front of us, showing that they just wanted to leave.
What angered us the most was that they forced us to pay the bill immediately just because they wanted to close the restaurant. My friend, who was unaware of the 15% Dineout discount coupon, made the payment in a hurry because of their pressure. When we later realized this and asked for the discount to be refunded, they refused and instead gave us a discount coupon for the next visit. We clearly told them we would never visit again, but they didn’t care.
Overall, this place is not worth the money. If you’re looking for good food and service, I would highly recommend Rajdhani Thali, which offers a much better experience at half the price. Madhuban needs to train its staff in basic hospitality because their poor service completely ruins the dining experience.
I wish I could give zero stars, but since the minimum option is one star, I am giving just that.
