Read moreI visited the Grand Sweets at Gandhinagar today at 2.30 pm and had a very bad experience. Firstly the people at the counter taking orders were inattentive and kept talking within their colleagues and not paying attention to customers. Secondly we placed two separate orders for sweets / snacks and one for pickles / mixes . There was utter confusion in the billing and undue delay in confirming the order and billing. The staff were very unsystematic and a confused lot . We also ordered coffee and a newly joined Nepali girl was asked to prepare South Indian coffee which lacked in taste and favour. We were charged 84/- for 2 coffees and what a waste of money. It was tasteless, not hot enough and the coffee had a powdered milk taste . These people are cheating the customers. There were no supervisors to monitor customers support . I have been a resident of adyar Gandhinagar since 1997 and a regular customer, gone are the days when it used to operate from a house with the aroma of ghee and frying , pure and fresh with daily prasadam in a “ dunnai “. After the death of the founder, the legacy is also dead . The children and their offspring have ruined the once great institution into a worthless mess. The old taste of sweets and karam is sadly missing. Profit and unprofessional way of doing business seems to...
Read moreThe quality of service and customer focus the place had, when it was started several years back, does not seem to exist.
When I visited the place just this evening, I found no sign of ‘service with smile’ pretty much on every staff.
I felt that customers were perceived like a ‘third-rated citizen’ and unwanted.
There was no logical steps or procedure or training of staff, to take the orders and deliver the orders.
Every customer had to wait for the staff’s “mercy” to get served.
No sign of any courtesy at all.
In the meantime, anyone has no consideration for others already waiting to be served, can simply ‘barge-in’, no one could question that behavior, as many behave that way only.
It appeared that, every glamourous money making idea, gets imported from the developed world into the country at a ‘lightning speed’, so people could make quick money, boast around and built their ‘social status’.
On the contrary, people in the developed countries do have some great qualities, particularly, ‘manners’, ‘courtesy’, ‘consideration’ for others.
Such great qualities are not even talked about, probably because too difficult to practice in reality, as the current societal environment has gone totally out of control.
Time to wake...
