Bombay Brasserie is one of the finest dining places in the city. The standalone restaurant gives a star property feel and their food is rich in flavours and never failed to impress all the time. They have revamped the menu and the new dishes are quite interesting and taste so good! this blog is all about the dining experience of the new menu.
First of all Bombay Brasserie is located in two places, Nungambakkam and Adyar. This one is from the Adyar one, the restaurant is not exactly located on the main road. It's difficult to spot the place, but google maps came in handy for the rescue.
The ambience is so good, the lighting is perfect and they have enough space to accommodate a huge crowd and have private spaces for special guests.
Coming to food, Angoori Soda, Melon Magic, Cochin Kuliki sherbet. The Cochin Kuliki sherbet was very bland. Melon magic was very refreshing it had muskmelon and fresh orange juice combination. Angoori Soda was on point and it was not just a grape juice it had the combination of lemon juice and cumin powder and the fizzy soda.
Aam Papad Paneer, Chilli Cheese Kulcha, and Agra Subz Seekh Kebab Roti on the veg. The Aam papad paneer had the tangy mango flavour, and the spices were marinated well over it and the taste was on point. The chilli cheese kulcha was nothing but mini kulchas stuffed with chilli cheese, having a bite of it reminds of the chilli cheese toast. The Agra subz seekh wasn't special in comparison to the other two starters. Ghost Pepper Wings and Kashmiri Naan Kebab on the Non-veg, the smoked and roasted chicken wings with the spice Bhoot Jolokia. This chicken was definitely spicy but honestly expected it to be even spicier when I heard about them. On the other hand loved the mutton minced kebab served with doon chetin, again one of my favourites from the night.
For the mains, Bombay lunch home veg curry with banana leaf rice, Coast to coast chicken with mixed seed roti, Calcutta club fish fry, Old Delhi Murg boti with butter roomali, and Chur chur paratha. The veg curry was absolutely brilliant. It was the one veg items in the veg and was so good, the rice steamed in the tender banana leaves served with the Mumbai veg curry masala. Chur Chur paratha was the iconic dish of the night, the taste was so good, and it went well with all the curries. both the chicken curries and the fish. The Chur chur paratha is crispy, flaky, and looks hand crushed. The chicken curry was just the one needed for finishing the bread and chur chur paratha.
Dessert, Amritsari Kulfa - Kulfi and creamy rabdi served on a bed of Badami phirni topped with falooda and rose syrup. the taste is phenomenal and one can return to BB just for having this dessert.
The Average cost for two is around Rs. 1500. However, this is just a rough estimate. The new menu looks very interesting and the whole experience was excellent. Revamped menu can't...

Read moreI visited this place with my family and found the ambience really good. I heard about this place from a colleague and wanted to give this a try; to be honest I found it a good experience. To start with the location, its in the heart of Adyar on the main road. Possibly the one thing to improve here would be the size of the board... Unless you are focused to locate this board, you will miss the restaurant. They provide valet parking, so driving a car here is not an issue.
If you plan to visit over a weekend around or after 7:30 PM, its better to do a booking. There's a decent amount of crowd (just speaks about their quality).
When I visited, I could notice the presence of several families and several groups of friends, essentially negating any stereotyping the place to be suitable only for family or only friends groups.
Coming to the menu - the options are good and provide more options for Non-Veg compared to Veg (However I would say its the case across most of the restaurants). The quality and quantity of the food was really good. The serving time was within expected guidelines.
I felt the price was a bit on the higher side (not a lot, since the quality and quantity justify the price tag to a great extent).
If you are looking for a nice place within the city limits to spend quality time with your loved ones and not too constrained on the cost, this is definitely a must...
