Pathetic cardiology service that almost killed my father and a money making scam. My father 63 year old was brought here with chest pain . The cardiologist there Dr Ramesh was extremely rude and seemed money minded. He shrugged aside my doubts and asked me to either pay for cardiac ot right away or else keep father at icu and he walked away at night without answering my questions . Next morning They adviced stenting . After one stent was put the anesthesiologist and Dr Ramesh called me aside and told me that one more stent may be put at low cost and i agreed ..then in the middle of the cath lab they called me aside and asked me if they could put a third stent and since me and family were worried we just went along with them. But as soon as they put the third stent my father's bp started to drop. Since I am an mbbs student myself I could understand there was a complication. But they tried to hush it up. But I insisted upon being informed and finally as Dr Ramesh was esapcing from the scene I was informed by the junior that the third stent couldn't be supported by the heart wall and the right ventricle was ruptured and it was bleeding profusely into the pericardial sac resulting in a cardiac tamponade and slowly my father's heart was stopping it's beating and all the three stents went waste but they made me pay 4.5 lakhs for it. This particular billroth didnt even have a cardiac surgeon on board and they shifted my father in ambulance to annanagar billroth where there was cardiac surgeon available. Luckily a surgeon we knew there did an open heart surgery and saved my fathers life in the nick of the moment and said that we could have directly done a bypass surgery costing 4.5 lakhs and avoided the angioplasty stenting... because of which I ended up paying 9lakhs. It's a nightmare to bring your family here at night.they don't even have a functional reception counter. No answers about insurance or cashless claim they just demand money. As a doctor myself I've and a terrible experience. Later when I met Dr Ramesh for review he refused to see my father and made a different cardiologist to see him . Dr Ramesh even had the gumption to look me in the eye and blame me for the complication without taking any accountability. Never set foot at...

About doctors - their treatment is not proactive. It's completely reactive. Normally good doctors expect the side effect and prepare for the worst side effects. But these doctors do not understand side effect and they will think only after getting some issues. This gives lot of time. I do not understand if this is due to lack to their knowledge or they simple spend time to earn more or could be both. Special mention for Nephrologist. This guy will not answer all your questions. For example : I asked him how much fluid did he remove in dialysis. Note: this is a basic question. His response was "why do you need this information". But there is also an exception - Dr. R. Vijayakumar. He is very good, can diagnose quickly and finds solution immediately. But problem is he stays only for few minutes in a day. I really had hope on him. If he stays in hospital for more hours, my dad would be alive now.
Nurses and duty doctors- nothing to talk about them. they are just puppets. Everytime you ask a question, their response would be "Ask doctors". This is not a complaint on doctor but the process of hospital. Generally duty doctors or nurses does not update even if the patient condition is getting bad. One night, my dad was in ICU and we were waiting in reception over night. We kept asking status and theora response was ask doctor. Morning somehow we fought and asked them what's going on. They said all good. At 11 am, my dad went into serious condition. His oxygen level was 95 previous night and it went to 40 at 11 am.
Conclusion is you will definitely get a feeling that the hospital is doing something backdoor and they really don't want us to know what's going on with patient. Next is they lack skill and money minded. Finally my dad died.

MYELF, DR.K.G.SRITHAR M.D., ATTENDED REVIEW CONSULTATION BY DR NATARAHAN SIR, NEUROLOGIST ON 07.02.2025. THE FOLLOWINGS ARE MY HUMBLE OBSERVATIONS: 1.VERY PLEASANT WELCOME AT RECEPTION THOUGH I DIDN'T HAVE APPOINTMENT ON THAT DAY. BUT, I HAD APPOINTMENT ON 05.02.2025 & THAT WAS CANCELLED DUE TO UNAVOIDABLE REASONS. 2.PRELIMINARY TESTS DONE IN THE MORE POLITE WAY BY THE CONCERNED STAFF. 3.THE WAY NEUROLOGIST DR NATARAJAN SIR CONDUCTING CONSULTATION WAS QUITE EXEMPLARY & UNIQUE. SIR, HIMSELF USED TO COME OUT OF HIS ROOM AND CALL THE PATIENT BY NAME WITH DUE DIGNITY. THIS IS SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT ONE AND UNSEEN/ UNHEARD IN OTHER CONSULTING PLACES. 4.SIR TOTALLY DEPENDS ON CLINICAL EXAMINATION & METHODOLOGY SUPERB AND RARELY ADVISES INVESTIGATION THAT TOO IN RELEVANT SITUATIONS. THIS IS ALSO VERY RARE IN OTHER PLACES. 5.ALWAYS SIR USED TO COME CLOSE TO PATIENT'S CHAIR AND EXPLAIN EVERYTHING IN SIMPLE TERMS. 6.NO UNWANTED INVESTIGATIONNS. 7.ONLY RELEVANT NEEDED DRUGS ALONE PRESCRIBED BY SIR. 8.REVIEW AFTER REASONABLE INTERVAL & THAT TOO FOR DESERVING PATIENTS ONLY ADVISED. 9.BEFORE REVIEW, SIR USED TO READ PREVIOUS NOTES FOR SOMETIME & THEN ONLY PATIENT WILL BE CALLED INSIDE. FOR NEEDY PATIENTS , SIR USED TO ADVICE EXERCSE, THAT TOO DEMONSTRATED BY SIR ONLY. REALLY SIR IS GEM IN FOLLOWING MEDICAL ETHICS.( eg: NOT RECEIVING CONSULTING FEES FOR DOCTORS. ) IN TOTO, STARTING FROM RECEPTION & UPTO CONCLSION OF CONSULTATION ENTIRELY A DIFFERENT UNIQUE EXPERIENCE.
