March 16, 2024 (Saturday lunch) - As a group of 4, went for a late lunch at 3pm. We were asked to order in one-go as they were closing the kitchen. The service was very quick, and we ate till 4.30pm, by which time we were the only customers for at least the last 30 minutes. It was eerily silent with our own cutlery sound appearing noisy to us.
The place is expensive, but, the food is phenomenally good! I went through the menu and made it a point to only order dishes with the 'Chef recommends' tag, while others ordered mostly starters and desserts. We had the following -- Curried Creme soup - It was mild/subtle and lovey. It was creamy but not excessively, it had Indian (curry) spices but not too much, it felt like no soup I have ever tasted before. I didn't care much for the fried-short-noodle like things on the top, would have preferred to not have them. Ginger punch - A refreshing drink with pineapple, ginger, and sweetened with honey. It had a slight roughness/texture to it and was not watery. Everybody loved it. Lychee blitzer - I just took a sip, felt like a strong lychee juice, probably from an essence/concentrate. Malai broccoli - We ordered this separately in addition to the tandoori platter as my cousin thought/knew this will be good. And boy was it good! I have tasted this item in other fancy places in Bangalore and Hyderabad, but this was better than those. Very juicy, very ideally spiced, very ideally cooked. It's a must-eat here. While this is usually served with a green chutney (mint and curd), here it additionally came with some mayonnaise based dip. I thought it won't fit well, but actually it did. Tandoori platter - My cousin ordered two of this. We knew this was going to be our main course. All items were delicious. It had paneer, broccoli, babycorn, potato, soya, and pineapple. Moreover, the highlight was that the spice coating on each was different, forming an ecstatic melange. The juiciness of the pineapple deserves special praise! Another must-try dish. Cajun spiced potato - It was perhaps good, but didn't appeal much, unfortunately, compared to the other times. It is similar to the one you get in barbecue places (like Absolute Barbecue / Barbecue nation etc.) Medley of grilled vegetable - Ordered this for it had pesto sauce based mix of veggies, but we were too full to eat it. We got it parcelled. It tasted somewhat normal and okayish that night. Perhaps it might have been better had we consumed it right then and there in the restaurant.
Panna cotta - Took just a spoon of it and it didn't appeal much. Paan ice cream - This was excellent with a lovely flavour. It was topped with some dry fruits and nuts, and that really brought the taste close to that of a sweet beeda.
Overall, its a great place you go to experience the taste/gourmet, and is worth the cost. It's a...
