Came here for breakfast, since they're the only coffee spot in Neo Soho that is ready to serve you on 8am (I think).
Ordered ice americano. Coffee is good, as expected from any CommonGround's branch.
Was suggested to order popcorn chicken, and I glad I ordered them! They're so good. Chicken is freshly cooked/fried. The batter is not the kind of the oily one, so it felt light. Easy to crunch, and doesn't leave the greasy feeling. And the batter is not overpowering the chicken. The sauce lifted up the taste, too.
And I want to personally highlight the service. My popcorn chicken was actually ready. However the server did a final check on my dish and immediately walked back to the kitchen team, asking them to redo the chicken. Knowing I saw the scene, he politely apologized and asked me to wait some more time since there was a thread in the dish.
I initially thought the cook would just take the "thread, hair or whatever it was" and served it back to me. Turned out they made me a new portion, since it took quite a while and when the popcorn chicken came out, they're piping hot.
Kudos for the Common Ground Neo Soho team for keeping the bar high.
For quite a pricey tag, I suppose they live up to the standard. And it felt worth it!
Keep up the awesome service. And keep serving good...
Read moreThe food was amazing. I tried the “kaya” jam toast with “kemangi” (basil leaves). The toast bread was quite thick, around 3-4cm, and it was crunchy on the edge, and soft on the inside. The “kaya” jam not too sweet, and balanced by the salty butter they serve on top of the toast. The “kemangi” for me is the surprise element. Never expect it will taste so good with something sweet like this “kaya” jam toast. I also tried the champion coffee. It was expensive but the taste really special. If you are a coffee lover, please try their tier 3 filter coffee. There was a hint of raspberry when you sip the coffee. Really a good quality coffee. They have the high-tea package from 13.00-15.00 if I’m not wrong. So I also ordered “klepon” cake with peppermint tea from JING. “Klepon” is actually an Indonesian traditional snacks. Aromatic flour ball with coconut flakes and palm sugar inside. So the “klepon” cake they serve have those same ingredients. One more thing, i found out that the menu seems always changed time to time. So what I review here might not be the same in the future. However, I never disappointed with...
Read moreAwesome coffee shop, one of the best in Jakarta. I particularly like this outlet, far better than its main one in Citywalk. The ambience is excellent with lots of light and fine-looking furniture. You'll fall in love with the interior as soon as you walk inside. And the coffee, well, they even have a collection of some rare specialty coffee, such as Panama Geisha (which they classify as Tier 3 manual brew). The coffee is very nicely done and it has distinctive taste. Generally speaking, I think the coffee quality here belongs to cafés higher up my personal favorites in town. However, I think sometimes they lack staffs so service takes a bit longer during moderate/peak hours. Luckily, this place is usually not that crowded (even on weekends morning). A perfect mood-enhancing place if you need to do serious work, or just casually hang out with friends. Very recommended. And oh, in case I haven't told you, everything is quite...
