I am so Happy my daughter and I wandered into this store. We were visiting Donegal on a vacation and stopped in to see what they had and ended up going back two more times because we loved so much of their stuff. We would buy and leave and then decide we wanted something else. The staff made it even more amazing. We got an amazing lesson about tweed making, design and the types of wool. They have a gorgeous 150 year old loom that some of the staff are trained on. James let us watch him make a little while sipping an amazing cup of coffee. We grabbed some socks, jewelry and a sweater while we were there. All in separate trips if I remember right. This place and it's staff definitely made the trip to Donegal for us an unforgettable experience and make me wish I was back there right now! You need to go...
Read moreMy first time in Ireland and stopped here at Triona in Donegal this past June. Such a lovely staff! Pauline made the visit extra special. I felt at home shopping and fell in love with just about everything in the store. The quality, design and colors were so beautiful! Including the jewelry! â¤ď¸ Pauline showed me the Arda two tone collection and I couldnât leave without purchasing. Gorgeous detail and design! I get a lot of compliments and I absolutely love them! Iâm truly appreciative the accommodation of allowing me to finish up shopping after hours. I felt bad but everyone was so kind and gracious. I hope to return in the near future! In the meantime Iâll resort to online shopping from the states! đ This is a beautiful family owned store with amazing quality. Highly...

I was able to purchase a lovely, hand-knit Aran sweater from the shop. Further, when Darren discovered my interest in traditional weaving, he proceeded to conduct a full demonstration of the traditional hand loom on the second floor of the shop (picture attached). He was highly knowledgeable and, I understand, one of very few young people who will carry on the trade of hand weaving tweed in county Donegal. I commend him for doing so and hope he will carry on with the trade.
This was certainly a highlight of my visit to Ireland. I strongly recommend a visit to Triona for any...
