The W Cinema — Local services in County Mayo

Been going a lot to the cinema recently. Apart from some of the really bad releases of Hollywood I would recommend this place to lovers of movies. The only criticism I have is, once upon a time, I emailed the cinema about a upcoming movie. They never replied, which is a shame as it shows a lack of customer service. The concession stand is suitably stocked with numerous choices of goodies. There are deals on Monday, adult tickets are €10 and you get free medium popcorn and drink. As well as Wednesday deal where the adult tickets are €6.50. The seats are comfy, but we bring our Jackets in so we can slouch even more. They are also suitably space apart, I think screen 3 has the widest seats. But none of the screens have uncomfortable small seats. The rooms are at a comfortable temperature, not too hot, slightly on the colder side. The toilets are clean, or at least the gents are every time I visit it seems to have been freshly mopped. But Wifey always has negative comments about the ladies. The interior decor has a very modern artistic look, with a comfortable and casual theme. There is a wall full of popular movie quotes with a misattributed Easter egg. This is a welcome addition to Westport and Wifey and Hubby definitely recommend. The only thing I will add is that sadly it's hidden from street view. Tucked away from St. James street. It's just a shame it doesn't have more presence and cannot be seen from the road. I'll start by saying It's a great cinema, the Monday madness deal is seriously good! One of the only cinemas that has sweet popcorn! Most of my experiences here have been positive. Though last time I was there they paused the movie at the start cause a large group showed up at the time the movie was meant to start. The staff didn't inform us or apologise for what happened. Then that group didn't even come to our movie in the end, so they played it over 30 mins late and it was already a late movie. So id say overall great cinema, but the staff maybe next time should apologise or inform us of changes, don't leave a room of people staring at a...

I was shocked when I saw the reception decor within the newly refurbished W Cinema, it's amazing. The design, the woodwork and the lighting are second to none. What a great idea to cheer up the normally boring cinema receptions! Some great films showing too with the added bonus of 3D screens.

I must add the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful, nothing was overpriced either. Well done to everyone involved, I really hope this delight will draw people back...
