We were following the sun that weekend and ended up in Westport. That’s when we discovered Servd. The place seemed quite popular—especially with tourists—and as we later found out, for good reason.
A few tips about the place: it’s medium-sized, maybe slightly larger, but most of the tables are set up for two people. There are only a few tables that can seat three or more. It’s also quite common to see people waiting near the entrance. You can leave your name with the waiter to get on the waiting list—one of you can stay nearby while the other explores the boutique-lined street or takes a stroll by the canal.
Another tip: if you’re hoping to order from the brunch menu, make sure to arrive well before 1 PM. We got there just before 1, but were told we’d have to order from the lunch menu instead—which, to be fair, was still very much worth it.
As for the food and service: we tried the tempura prawn tacos, chicken kebab, and one more dish. The tacos were my personal favourite—beautifully balanced flavours and absolutely delicious. I only wish the portion included three tacos instead of two. The other dishes were generously portioned and satisfying. The staff were friendly and welcoming, though clearly very busy, constantly moving between tables.
Overall, we really enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Westport.
One final note: we’ve since tried the morning menu and actually preferred it to the lunch offerings. It features some standout dishes, like the Middle Eastern classic shakshouka—rich, flavorful, and perfect for a leisurely...
Read moreThere are two Servd Cafes in Westport. This one is hands down the best out of the two, and perhaps the one of the best three Cafes in Westport. I have been in Twice, and wish I have visited more often. The first time was for Lunch, and tried the posh kebab. So clever taking this dish and bringing a fine dining touch to it. Now don't get me wrong, a doner kebab is extremely tasty at the end of the night. But even beer googles can't save the haphazard mess, in a styrofoam box, it often is. But this dish, is just as tasty ... But looks runway model amazing. It's a work of art, and honestly it is so surprising to look at. But all dishes are served this way at Servd. And while I am more about the taste, I really appreciate the effort given here. An added wow factor that just adds extra. The second time, I went for Breakfast. And let's just say the Bacon Benny is just as artisanal and delicious on the taste buds. Fancy Crisps, handmade?, with a breakfast dish ... Worked so well, it was shocking surprise. The bacon, brioche toast, poached egg and hollandaise sauce is winner. Finally the staff are so friendly. And you can tell this is because the Manager/Owner? is a good stand up person. Smiling and making you feel so welcome. She is a lead by example person and you can see it fitler down her staff. If I had one critism, and really ... there are none, and only because of my personal tastes. The coffee is a dark roast, it is a perfectly good strong coffee which I am sure many love. I just prefer a smoother, blonde roast. but sugar quickly solves...
Read moreI don't like giving one star reviews, but we had a very bad experience here. Almost ruined the whole vacation. From the very beginning on setting foot here, we felt unwelcome. It kind of felt like since we were Americans / tourists, then we got different treatment than others. We had a very short time to eat and let our server know from the onset about that. We ordered very simple things to try to eat and go fast. Literally a few eggs and toast, coffee, water. Well, we sat there for a good part of an hour with nothing served. Everyone else was served their drinks and food and left and we were still sitting there, waiting for even a glass of water. We pondered just leaving the restaurant but there was no one to talk with about it. Server seemed to forget about us. Just then a new couple sat next to us and was immediately served. I asked if we would be immediately served as well and the server kind of had an angry look and went over and grabbed the stuff which was all just sitting there. So we were finally served. Honestly the food was pretty bad too. We had high hopes for this place based on all the five star reviews but the food was average. The toast was very burnt, inedible. And then when we went to pay, the server wouldn't even look at us. Just seemed so angry the whole time. I should note here that because of the poor service, we ended up missing the entire event we were trying to attend.
All in all, if you're American or a tourist, then you should avoid this place like the plague! It's for...
