The highlight of our Italian vacation! The Blue Boat showed up at the dock (1 minute from our hotel in Portovenere) at precisely at 9:00 a.m. Simone and Caterina could have not been more welcoming.
There were pastries, fresh fruit and Prosecco on ice to greet us. We had booked the 7-hour trip, and it included two stops. One of the stops scheduled stops was Portovenere, but since we were already staying there, they were very flexible to make our stops Monterroso and Vernazza. Cruising north through the Cinque Terre National Park, Caterina served as tour guide -- pointing out many things of interest. It was literally a PERFECT day.
If you've never been to Cinque Terre, it is breathtakingly picturesque. And seeing it from the water is incredibly special. On a few occasions, we stopped to swim. They provided snorkeling equipment and towels. The water was so refreshing and very clear.
We took about one hour to explore each of the towns at which we docked, and after that, they had prepared a beautiful lunch for us -- which included the best pesto I've ever had. Beer, wine and soft drinks were available in abundance throughout the day.
If you are looking for a boat charter, this company is first class all the way. You will not be...
Read moreAmazing experience and would highly recommend as a unique and peaceful way to experience the beauty and charm of the Cinque Terre villages and stunning coastline. The booking process was seamless and Megan was so helpful and responsive in answering all of our questions, providing detailed directions and making us entirely comfortable with the planning of our trip. She is a treasure! Our captain, Simone and crew, Irene, were absolutely first rate and made our trip a truly memorable experience. They were kind, thoughtful, very well informed about the various villages and history of the area and kept us entertained for the entire time. Simone promised us dolphin sightings and darn it if he didn’t deliver! We were able to visit several of the villages and had a delicious lunch in Vernazza. Being able to see the villages from the sea was truly unique and after watching the poor souls trekking on the trail and fighting the crowds in the villages, I’ve got to say that this is definitely the best way to visit Cinque Terre. I would highly recommend The Blue Boat Cinque Terre Tour for anyone looking for an elevated experience in this beautiful...
Read moreOur private boat tour with Captain Simone was an absolute highlight of our time in Cinque Terre. While exploring the villages by foot is incredible, seeing them from the water with Simone at the helm gave us a whole new perspective. The colorful towns clinging to the cliffs looked even more breathtaking from the sea, and Simone’s local knowledge made the experience even more special. From the moment we stepped on board, Simone made us feel completely comfortable. His boat was spotless, spacious, and perfectly set up for a relaxing day on the water. He shared fascinating details about the history and culture of the region, but also gave us quiet moments to simply soak in the scenery. With a glass of wine in hand and the villages unfolding along the coastline, it felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you’re considering a private boat tour, I can’t recommend Captain Simone highly enough. He combines professionalism with genuine warmth, and he creates an experience that feels both personal and unforgettable. This was hands down the best way to see...
