My mother and I had a great time on the 6-hour tour of Cinque Terre from La Spezia! Giacomo and Amy were great, showing us beautiful and historical sites along the way. The light lunch of focaccia with various toppings was delicious. There was plenty of water, soft drinks, and juice throughout the day. Amy offered us white wine from Cinque Terre as well! We swam in 3 different spots, went into the harbors of each of the towns, and got off the boat to explore Monterosso on our own for about an hour. They had a few pool noodles and inflatables for swimming, which was fun! We saw some interesting caves as well, including on the island of Palmaria. It was the perfect length of time. It was hot, but the swim stops plus breeze when sailing kept us cool.
A few details I had looked for in case others are looking as well. My mother (70) is pretty fit and was able to get on and off the boat with some assistance. It's a big step down (or up) especially in Monterosso. Swimming is off the back of the boat and there is a ladder that makes it easy to get out of the water. There is a fresh water sprayer to wash off after swimming. There is a space for backpacks inside the small cabin. It was possible for me to stand up inside (5'7") and I changed down there into/out of my swimsuit. The toilet is down there too, a bit tricky, but Amy set it up for my mom to use. They can close off the inside cabin for privacy for the toilet and changing. We drove 1.5 hours to the port (and then back) but if you are coming from nearby, it would be easiest to come in your swimsuit with something you can put on over it to walk around. We parked right at the marina, which was about 2€/hour, but there was no problem finding a spot.
Overall a wonderful day! We had 6 on our boat and it was comfortable, especially since 2 mostly sat at the front of the boat. In the back you have partial shade depending on the direction of the boat, but there is a shade cover overhead. Bring your sunscreen and be ready for a good time! It is...
Read moreBest boat trip ever!!! We have taken day and overnight boat trips on Amalfi coast, Lake Como, Mallorca, Caribbean, Hawaii and around the US and this was by far the best trip we've ever taken and we highly recommend Aphrodite. The level of service from Captain Giacomo and his first mate Filippo was phenomenal- they have everything prepared for you. The scenery is beautiful- the best way to experience the Cinque Terre is by boat (and we have hiked most of the trails and explored the towns). There are numerous places to stop and swim as you wish, including rock/cliff jumping (highly recommend this), a cave to swim through, and just enjoying the beautiful crystal clear Mediterranean waters. They have masks, floats and towels. Giacomo chose a fantastic restaurant (Miky Ristorante in Monterossi- highly recommend, a bit more expensive but the experience and food were worth it). On the boat Filippo gave a running commentary on the landscape, the history, and the stories of the Cinque Terre. There were sodas, local white wine, waters, fruit platter in the morning, focaccia platter in the afternoon, fresh water rinse off after every swim in the sea- they really pamper you. We can't say enough about this trip- it is a MUST DO in...
Read moreWe had an incredible experience on our six hour private cruise around Cinquaterre. Giacomo was our wonderful Captain and Amy was our gracious host. The logistics were easy as they were ready for us and we walked right onto the beautiful boat. We booked the 4-8 person tour and had plenty of space with the four of us—though the boat could easily fit eight. Very early, Any asked whether we were interested in more tour and history/explanation or just to relax. We told her more relaxation and swimming, and she adapted immediately. We ended up with five great, non-crowded swim stops, a lovely lunch on the boat and a customized tour with just the highlights. Perfectly relaxing. We swam in a cave, to two waterfalls, and in refreshing Mediterranean blue stops. They let us set the pace while they guided us on time. They had floating rings and snorkel gear for our use on swim stops. The local wine they served was delicious and I could probably write about 10 more paragraphs about this perfect day. This is a must do and worth the time and money (very reasonable when you think about per person per hour). Thank you for an...
