Onoya — Local services in Atami

This place is amazing! I don’t speak Japanese but my boyfriend does and although this was helpful, staff provided English print outs and some spoke English which made it easy to understand. The onsens were very relaxing and I would recommend booking the private one. The food was was prepared in traditional Japanese style which was very delicious and you will not go hungry! It is very easy to get to from the yugawara train station via bus and close to some cute shops. I would recommend buying some of the local produce like mandarins and mochi. There are also beautiful shrines and waterfalls to visit and some nice walks across the mountains. Because of the amazing experience it is a bit more expensive than some other places but worth it and I would stay...

We stayed at this beautiful traditional ryokan for two nights after a busy week in Tokyo and had the most amazing, relaxing, nourishing time! The hotel is set in a hilly spot and faces the beautiful hills of Yugawara, and the scene from the bedrooms, dining room and onsens are absolutely picturesque. In addition to the amazing onsens (indoor and outdoor), what is even more wonderful about this ryokan is the wonderful staff and the incredible hospitality that everyone offers. We felt at home like no place else and the food included as part of our stay prepared by head chef (breakfast + dinner) was very delicious. Everything was perfect from the minute we check in.... Although it seem to be a bit far away from Hakone town but all public transport are close by and it is perfect for me since i needed a quite relax place to enjoy the onsen... The service was perfect with greeted big smile every time we see the staff.... the onsen was a dream, so relax every time we take a dip and of cause the food... it was a meal fit for the royal... I love the place and would recommend to anyone who want to de-stress.... I have to give out a big shout to all the staff who make us feel so special...
