cu―mo箱根（クーモはこね） — Local services in Hakone

The foot bath at Sounzan Station was such a nice surprise. We grabbed a cotton candy smoothie from the café and soaked our feet while taking in the mountain views—easily one of the most relaxing moments of our Hakone trip. On a clear day, you can even spot Mt. Fuji in the distance, which made it feel a little surreal.

It’s free, clean, and right next to the ropeway boarding area, so it’s an easy stop to build in. Just don’t forget a small towel for drying off after (or grab one from the shop if you do). Highly recommend pausing here before...

Located on the top floor of the Sounzan station next to the cable car (ropeway) entry/exit. The small chic shop offers souvenirs and a limited selection of foods such as kumopan - a light and airy coloured sponge that was delicious in the cold weather, but seems to sell out quickly. There's some seating outside the shop to rest.

The nearby terrace has a seating area where you can enjoy a relaxing foot bath whilst soaking in the beautiful scenery (if you're lucky enough to experience clear weather). No towels are provided though.

Awesome view of the valley at the outdoor gallery which even has a footpath for you to relax at while soaking in the view. The indoor area is spacious too.

Prices here are reasonable especially for coffee and even craft beer. There are even Hakone specials available.
