SOGO Hiroshima — Local services in Hiroshima

My two sons and I got stuck in a stationary departmental floor lifts area because the store was closing and the three lifts were not stopping on the that floor. Seeing us standing there waiting, suddenly one suited and booted gentleman with a briefcase bowed and he swiftly brought two other departmental management team along with the their Director (I presume) and they all bowed and profusely apologised for the inconvenient caused and one of them made a call to request the lift to stop at the floor immediately. All the management team were bowing as the lift’s door was closing.

An extraordinary world. So much respect for others’ time and space. Unbelievable!

Here is an important landmark for first timers to Hiroshima like my wife and I experienced from January 11-14. 2018. The most convenient transport from Hiroshima's Airport to the city is to take the half-hourly Airport Limousine bus to the Hiroshima Bus Station at Sogo. On your return leg, bear in mind to get off at the street car station nearest to Sogo and you should be able to see an external sign on the G/F directing you to take the escalator upto the Airport-bound...

From Hiroshima Station South Exit, take the Hiroshima Electric Railway (streetcar) and get off at Kamiyacho Nishi. The ride takes about 10 minutes (fare: 240 yen).
