Some of these posts need to have an expiration date because I was prepared for the worst when I read some of the reviews. BUT let me tell you, this hotel blew me out of the waters. From the service, to the rooms, to the restaurants and club lounge, everything was topnotch!
My room was on the 21st floor and it was so spacious with 2 standard bed with a great view of the city. The rooms are NOT out dated. Bathroom was spacious. I know it is standard for Japanese bathrooms to have a bidet BUT LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, and AMERICA/AMERICANS LISTEN UP, LET THIS BE IMPLEMENTED EVERYWHERE. You haven’t lived until you experience a toilet that can lift the seat when you enter, clean your booty with temperature regulated water, pressure wash from front and back, blow dry, and automatically flush when you walk away.
My recommendation is if you are going to stay here, splurge a little because in order for you to have access to the club lounge, you need to stay between floor 19-21. The club lounge offers buffet breakfast that has a little something from each of the restaurants they have within the hotel. In addition you have an amazing view of the city. Afternoon tea you’ll get finger foods and night time you’ll have small snack.
But one thing I will agree with everyone else is that the customer service is professional and wonderful. They even helped me send my luggage to my other accommodation. I didn’t even have to fill out the form! I just told them where and they took care of it all! But keep in mind that you need to send it a day in advance to get it the next day. Before 8:30am because that’s when the delivery service picks it up.
As for the cigarettes smell, I didn’t particularly smell it in my room but I can smell a SLIGHT hint of it in the hallway or it could have been the Japanese men passing by where I noticed it the most.
The location is perfect because it’s only a 15 minute walk away from the museum, atomic dome and hondori strip mall. Also the 101 Bus is right in front of the hotel which gets you to the Hiroshima Station so no need to ride the Lime or Green Line, just be cautious of the small space if you have luggage.
Okay I’m going to close by saying, stay here. Don’t take my word for it and prove me wrong.
P.S. If the staff are reading this and not a copy and paste response, THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! DON’T FORGET ABOUT ME. I WILL...

Expect to struggle with anything other than the normal basics when it comes to communication. This is completely inconsistent with other Crowne Plaza hotels in Japan, which do provide a high level of benefit to IHG SPIRE Elite customers.
My girlfriend and I stayed here to take in the sights of Hiroshima and Miyakejima, which also happened to be our 1st anniversary. This was also my 130th night in a IHG hotel in 2016. Imagine my surprise when the check in staff refused to provide any benefits for my ROYAL AMBASSADOR SPIRE status, and also could not clearly communicate anything about their policies and procedures in English. We booked a "Deluxe" room (certainly not the cheapest), and were put in a sub-par room with two beds, told that all rooms with a single bed were sold out (nevermind the fact that the IHG app showed they had inventory...)
I did bring all of this this to the hotel management's attention, and was offered a discount on my room for the inconvenience and an apology. Great, but that doesn't help your other SPIRE Elite guests.
This hotel needs to change in order to be CONSISTENT with the other Crowne Plaza hotels in Japan. Your SPIRE Elite customers have a higher expectation than the level of service you have decided to provide as of today and you should be ashamed of that.

In 1978, during Hiroshima's urban reconstruction, ANA Crowne Plaza was established, directly constructed on the site of the historic Kotaiji Temple, which has a 500-year history (the hotel entrance still preserves remnants of the Atago Pond).
The hotel was even acclaimed as the best national architecture during the Showa era.
In 2007, the hotel underwent renovations and was refurbished again last year, focusing solely on the executive floors and executive lounge.
·Location
The hotel boasts the best location and views in Hiroshima. Surrounded by the city's largest commercial district, Chugoku Department Store, and bustling shopping streets, it is conveniently located near bus stops and tram stations.
Adjacent to the hotel is the Shiragami Shrine, once a prominent landmark alongside the Kotaiji Temple.
·Rooms
As an IHG Diamond member, I stayed in a newly refurbished room on the executive floor. At 30 square meters, it is the second-largest among the three newly renovated room types, providing ample space.
The gray-tone decor with walnut accents is quite pleasing.
·Restaurants
As a Diamond member, breakfast is only available in the executive lounge, with a variety that doesn't quite match the lobby's offerings, but the service is commendable.
Afternoon tea in the lounge is passable but not as good as in other hotels.
The Happy Hour menu is average, but the drink selection is comprehensive and thoughtful.
The view from the executive lounge is impressive, offering a panoramic view of Hiroshima city, Miyajima, and the...
