Arimaonsen Station — Local services in Kobe

So I messed up, I went back into the station using my ICOCA card to take some photos then needed to head back to my hotel, not knowing that if you don't use the card at another station it causes the gate to not let you through. The station staff in the booth was stoic and quiet, didn't speak English but I am in Japan, I can't expect them to just magically know English. Instead, he pulled out a translator device in his pocket and proceeded to ask me a few simple questions. Once he figured out I was an simple idiot, he made sure to cancel any charges applied to my card and helped me back in. They dont need to be super charming and baby me around, they just need to be helpful and thats what they did. Thanks to the staff member...

Nicely done small station serving the hot spring town. Decorated with kind of retro lighting and so forth for an attractive first impression when pulling into the town. Regular services to Kobe and beyond, efficient and clean. Well run by friendly staff who are happy to help out when needed. Gets busy in the peak...
