Merveille Arima — Hotel in Kobe

An aging hotel with excellent hot spring baths and traditional Japanese ambiance. And Japanese hospitality! Unfortunately, the facilities in our room are outdated: glass doors are thin so from train station can be heard (starts at 5am!); the unit bathroom has rusty faucets and mold around tub, and starts to smell on our s2nd day! The closet doors are aluminum and rusty and loud.😨

The good points are that onsen facilities are excellent, with 4 different baths: a Gin no yu, Kin no yu, jacuzzi-styled bath, and a cold water bath! Also an outdoor bath! Lots of skin care products to choose from👍

The Kaiseki ryouri dinner with Wagyu beef was superb! Staff was very kind and heartwarming; tried to explain things in as much English as possible, even used gTranslate! 🥰. And, they were very attentive and prepared the dessert course for us to bring back to our room to enjoy (yes, we were pretty full by then)! Thank you very very much for your kindness and hospitality❣️❣️

Overall a good onsen hotel.

Onsen water quality was okay at best, seemed watered down too much compared to other gold, silver onsen baths.

Now for dinner, I went for the moon mountain course. A good mix of local ingredients and fresh sashimi with an interesting mix of citrus and pacific saury was a delight!

Now the rotenburo, outdoor bath was a nice addition. yet, not having shower facilities within them was cumbersome.

Lastly, the staff did a good job in terms of delivering the services required but when you consider the hotel being in the onsen area, a bit more attention to details would make the hotel...

娘のオープンキャンパス巡りに便乗して、家族みんなで温泉旅行へ行ってきました||ただ、時期はかなり厳しいお盆休み最後の週末||温泉以外もやむなし…と色々探す中、1泊朝食付プランで、この時期にしては比較的安価な設定があったためせっかく行くなら温泉に入りたい！とこちらに宿泊することにしました。||①外観|古さを感じることもなく質素で、観光ホテルの様な豪華さはなく、ちょっと良さげなビジネスホテルの様な佇まいでした||②駐車場|めちゃくちゃ狭いです。リフト式の駐車場と平面の併用ですが、駐車も鍵の管理も係員の方に任せるかたちになります。納車1カ月の新車だったので、めちゃくちゃ心配でした||③客室|家族5人で1部屋にしてましたので布団とベッドの和洋室でした。和室側の布団は自分たちで準備する様に案内がありましたので、3人分を敷きましたが…食卓がわりと大きく、3人分敷くには結構邪魔だったりしました。|和室からはテレビは見れない位置にあり、洋室側からしか見れませんので、テレビ好きの家族には気になるかと思います。|また、部屋の照明に壁付きのスイッチがなく、和室は昔ながらの紐で、洋室はベッド間のスイッチで操作するしかなく戸惑いました|常備してある浴衣も全て中サイズで、普段大〜特大を使用している自分にはきつかったです。||④お風呂|有馬らしい、金の湯と銀の湯の両方が引いてあるとのことで、楽しみにしてましたが…とりあえず…湯船が狭い…|金の湯側で3人、銀の湯側で5人も湯船に浸かったらいっぱいになりそうです洗い場も10席程度で浴室全体も狭い感じがします|もうひとつ気になったのは野天風呂|部屋にも書いてありましたが、大浴場から離れたところにあり…一旦、大浴場で掛け湯をしてから浴衣を着なおして移動する必要があります|しかも、その移動先は大浴場に向かう通路の手前側、お風呂に向かう人がいれば必ずすれ違うところ|仕方ないこととはいえ…浴衣もバスタオルも濡れちゃいますし…何とかならないものかな…|野天風呂に向かう入口はひとつしかなく、屋外板張りの廊下も1本、行き着いた先は男湯と女湯が分かれてますが…のれんをくぐったすぐ目の前に湯船があり、そのすぐ横に申し訳程度の脱衣所|湯船も5人も入ったら身動き取れなさそうな程度の大きさで…湯船に浸かってると歩いてる人が見えちゃいます||⑤レストラン|朝食ビュッフェで利用。5人家族なので2人掛けのテーブル3つをくっつけて利用させていただきましたが…テーブルの間が狭い…。|誰か座ってたら、おかわりを取りに横を通るのも気が引けちゃうくらいのくっつき具合でした。||全体的には大きなマイナスポイントもなく、良くも悪くも昔ながらの企業の...
