This was one of the highlights of our vegan family of fiveโs trip to Japan! We had all been looking forward to trying tofu from a traditional tofu shop, and our experience here did not disappoint. Our favorite item was definitely the toffles, which completely exceeded our expectations. They had such a great combination of taste and texture, very different from a typical waffle. We also tried the fresh soy milk and fried tofu. The soy milk was a unique experience, though not our favorite. However, the fried tofu was absolutely delicious, especially with soy sauce.
Not only was the food great, but the employees were wonderful too. Both of the staff members working that day were very kind and even brought out a small table with cutlery and soy sauce for our fried tofu once they saw that we were there. This shop is a place that all tofu lovers...
ย ย ย Read moreStumbled upon this gem of a shop. Very authentic experience - you can see the tofu being prepared by hand by a lovely couple. They are so enthusiastic to tell you about all the products despite the language barrier.
The have lots of fresh tofu products which looks fabulous to be honest. We had a hard time making a decision but finally tried the Sakura and the regular waffle. It was hot, crispy and tasted SO GOOD. You can feel the fresh taste and texture and it's so lightly sweet - perfection. It also was very affordable - 240 yen for a single waffle.

The soy milk is a compleatly different consystancy that what you can buy in a regular store. Although he at first found it a bit funny when we asked if it is ok to eat the tofu there he was nice enough to bring us a bowl and sauce to dip the tofu into.
