Me and my family went to a few kimono shops looking for affordable second hand kimonos, came across this shop and was intimidated at the first glance into the shop, it looked professional and looked like a brand new kimono clothed shop,
As soon as we went in, the staff were friendly, spoke and directed us to what we were looking for,
We were scanning through the selection on kimonos looking at designs, materials and our price range, a lovely lady in red (and really happy she understood english) came over and happily explained the detail, material and whether some was for summer, winter etc...as soon as I seen one I really liked and I placed it over me, the lady happily came over and helped me dress as she saw I was confused since this was new to us all with no knowledge over how to dress.
The lady automatically helped and taught me how to dress, we constantly had questions which she happily just explained with passion and she made you feel like you were not bothering or using her time, she happily helped us and when we were looking for something specific, she without hesitation went and looked around the shop for it. This was my first time to be dressed in a shop professionally but she honestly made us feel very warm and welcome. I pointed out accessories that she had on and she very excitedly went and found one that matched my outfit, she was very happy to show and explain the meaning to us.
We left the shop an very happy satisfied customer and honestly would go back again. Better then some other shops around and left the shop a little more educated in the kimono history.
Highly recommend a visit, staff spoke english, shop has selection of new and second hand kimonos depending on what your looking for and really was enjoyable being in the shop....
Read moreThis store is a must! The positive reviews I read before coming to the store could not have been more accurate. The prices and quality of the kimono/yukata are unbeatable. Being second hand the patterns vary but they have a large variety that is well organised. The prices are transparent with the more casual kimono (cheaper 6600 yen) on one side and the more formal kimono (expensive 15000 yen and higher) on the other. They have a kimono for every budget. But by far nothing can beat the service. Those who work at the store love what they do and it shows. They take the time to explain the differences in each garment and how it can/should be worn. From the moment you walk in the vibe is that you are family and not just some customer they want money from. As a person that is on the larger side I knew some things would not fit, however they did not let that ruin the experience and still let me try on the patterns I liked while finding/suggesting bigger sizes so I could get the full experience. No other store I have been to can compare in my opinion and I would recommend this store to anyone...
Read moreThis shop was absolutely wonderful to visit. The women there are all extremely kind and helpful, especially given the fact there was a language barrier (we used google translate to help). When I was able to express that I was looking for a kimono for display, they helped me look around and even explained the history of some of the garments. Because the kimonos are used/vintage, they made sure that I was aware of any stains which was also appreciated.
They had a very large selection. When I found a style I loved, they even made sure I saw others have in that likeness to make sure I found exactly what I was wanting. Once the kimono was picked out, they helped me find a matching obi!
The price was incredibly reasonable. I was able to buy a formal, shorter sleeve kimono (style for unmarried women) and obi together for under $200, with extremely minimal staining (only one spot in a nearly impossible to see place). It was an amazing experience, and they were incredibly kind throughout the...
