Got there early yesterday to buy bread for kids while they were sleeping in hotel. Not all the displays were filled, but good enough to let you know it's a solid bread shop. The fragrant aroma of fresh bakes wafted in the air...
I quickly picked up the savoury items, as the kids had bought themselves some sweet breads yesterday. The best were the melted cheese with ham atop a toast, and the mashed egg white bread toast, which with a very nice mayo and half an egg. The sausage bun was also very nice cos the sausage was really plump and juicy! The endaname beans and home made bread were cold by the time i walked home, so it was my bad for not having them straight out of the shop. Delish to the max! I only got 1 photo of the shop as the bread vamoosed once I got home, testament to the food.
When a shop opens so early in the morning, imagine how much earlier the bakers have to wake up to start their routine of churning out these bread? Thank you very much for your hard work, and it shines...
Read moreAbsolutely exceptional bread! We took the counter staff's recommendation and got the custard bread, one with gorgonzola, a shio pan and a tuna croissant sandwich.

The gorgonzola bread was so interesting, with the gorgonzola forming only a very subtle counterpoint to the sweetness of the bread, very interesting indeed!
I only got one bite of the custard bread as my wife had devoured the whole thing, but the bite I did get was glorious!

The 2/7 Kitchen has kept up our success ratio. Their croissants are very crispy on the outside and have that chewy stretchy interior that allows them to be unrolled and eaten as is her preferred method. We've also tried their chocolate croissant, raisin croissant and a pain de campagne (a bit over proofed almost to a pain de cristal but delicious never the less) and some of their sandwiches. All were delicious. We've been there 5 times already and will probably get something there everyday until we leave Kyoto. Unfortunately no seating available,...
